'New Amsterdam' Season 2 Episode 10: We need to wait for mid-season premiere to find out what Evie's new job offer means for Floyd and Lauren

The storyline that has us hooked the most is that of Floyd (Jocko Sims) and Lauren (Janet Montgomery), and how they could find their way to each other.

Season 2 of 'New Amsterdam' has switched things up for the better, and had us glued to the edge of our seats throughout, especially that heartstopping fall finale. We left the NBC series mid-assassination, and boy, we are excited to find out what happens next! Everything started with Max (Ryan Eggold) and Helen (Freema Agyeman) going over to one of the most dangerous prisons in New York, Rikers Island, to give the female inmates medical check-ups and what they unwittingly offered is an opening for a few of them to plot the murder of another, who recently became a state witness.

While this storyline is going on, Helen received the information that she has been fired from the roles of Depute Medical Director and Chair of Oncology at New Amsterdam. She is still reeling from the shock of this news when we leave her, and when the show returns, she will be thrust into the hullaballoo caused by the inmates' plans. Of course, we are not too worried about her, because we know that Max will intervene and make things right with the board and not let Helen be unfairly punished for trying to look out for her patient.

The storyline that has us hooked the most is that of Floyd (Jocko Sims) and Lauren (Janet Montgomery), and how they could find their way to each other. As we know, Floyd is in a serious relationship with Evie (Margot Bingham) and was even on the verge of marrying her. It seems typical for a show like 'New Amsterdam' to show a character get this invested in someone, only for the relationship to be thwarted because of their career.

Meanwhile, Lauren is in a complicated relationship with  Zack (JJ Feild), and she realizes that he gets her in a way no one else will. However, she still shared a loving moment with Floyd soon after her surgery and we saw a glimpse of what they could become in the future. Unfortunately, we will only get to see it when 'New Amsterdam' returns with Season 2 Episode 10 on Tuesday, January 14, 2020.
