'Stranger Things' Season 4 was released in two volumes earlier this year, and the impressive viewership saw a few more tens of millions of hours of views added to its tally.  The '80s period sci-fi horror drama now stands tall with total views of 1.325 billion hours in the first 28 days of its release and is considered the most viewed Netflix English-language series, vaulting over the second most popular English series on Netflix, 'Bridgerton' Season 2 (656 million views).

'Squid Game' which was released on September 17, 2021, is still holding the top rung of the ladder. After 'Stranger Things' left the last season on a cliffhanger and millions of fans from all over the world were religiously waiting to binge-watch Season 4. Once it was released it became clear that 'Squid Game's record of 1.650 billion hours viewed in the first 28 days was unbeatable, at least as of now, it has been. But Season 4 came closest than anyone had been able to. It was within 298 million hours of the tally for the Korean drama, 'Squid Game', created by Hwang Dong-hyuk for Netflix.

In related news, 'Virgin River' the romantic drama series on Netflix which released its Season 4 on July 20, 2022, had held on to the top spot for the week of July 25, among other English language series in its first full week of the release with the viewed hours of 87.9 million hours.

Another Korean series break out, 'Extraordinary Attorney Woo', it was back to the top rank on the non-English side with 65.5 million hours for the week. It was released on June 29, 2022, but the series has been on the top, in three of its four weeks to date.

'Stranger Things' Season 5's script writing of the final season is in the process as the writer's team had taken to Twitter. Last season's finale was undoubtedly promising for its viewers as it gave us a preview of something bigger and better leading the viewers expectation to sky rocket. It is although not confirmed the official release date of season 5 but the earliest could be a late 2023 release, at least we hope so. As we saw in the last bit of last season's finale, the Upside Down has now merged with Hawkins and Will touching his neck because of the connection, telling his friends that, "Now that I'm back, in Hawkins, I can feel him. And he's hurt, he's hurting, but he's still alive." It surely got us fixed in our seats as we are all psyched to figure out how everything rolls out.
