The second episode of 'NCIS: Los Angeles' season 11 was all about a robbery gone awfully wrong and even though a mysterious death left the entire unit pretty shaken, the episode following a stellar season premiere last week didn't quite win over fans.

This article contains spoilers for season 11, episode 2: 'Decoy'.

As the official synopsis revealed, this week saw "the NCIS team split up, with Callen and Sam working with Mossad Agent Eliana Sapir in Tel Aviv, and Kensi partnering with DOJ Agent Lance Hamilton in Los Angeles". Along with all of that, there was a possible romance teased between Callen and Eliana, and for some reason, fans neither enjoyed nor approved of that angle.

Taking to Twitter, @ZoeyPeony shared: "Kind of a disappointing start to this season. Bring out the regular cast. Give Callan a better love interest than that. I hope next week is better. It’s like you brought out the B team writers."

Another fan @K12Lioness complained: "Oh please. Off this show he has a wife and 5? 6? Kids? He’s the last person on the show I want to watch in a relationship. Good lord. Stop trying to reinvent the show. Kens & Deeks lightened up that show. What part of human interaction don’t you writers get? The new beast, not!" User @GCSil02 also opined: "His character made no sense tonight. Since when he talked this much about his feelings? What about making him talk about the recent loss of his dad instead of a lady he dated long time ago? What’s the freaking sense of it? And no..to Eliana..I still don’t like her."

Even with the whole splitting-up subplot, where Callen and Sam went on their little assignment, fans were far from pleased. User @Kitty_LaFierce remarked: "Story was disjointed. Sam and Callen's storyline made no sense at all. Hard to do a good show w/half the cast missing. Having everyone stuck in separate places and not interacting or working together throws off the show's rhythm & pacing."

Speaking for all of them, perhaps user @tmb510 summed it up the best, writing: "I was trying to figure out why I was not engaging in this episode of #NCISLA. Deeks and Eric are missing. That must be it."

'NCIS: Los Angeles' airs on Sundays at 10pm ET only on CBS.
