Nathan Millard: Georgia man's body found rolled up in plastic-covered carpet 11 days after he went missing
BATON ROUGE, LOUISIANA: The body of a Georgia father who vanished last month during a 24-hour business trip was reportedly discovered rolled up in a carpet that was covered in plastic. According to the Baton Rouge Police Department, 42-year-old Nathan Millard was discovered dead on the 2900 block of Scenic Highway, roughly three miles from the bar he was last seen at, on Monday, March 6 at about 3.34 am.
Millard was last seen at Happy's Irish Pub on Third Street in the downtown area on February 23 at approximately 11.30 pm. Millard was in the area to check out a job site for the construction firm he worked for. The cause of death will be determined by the East Baton Rouge Parish Coroner's Office as it's currently unknown, DailyMail reported.

Texas EquuSearch, a nonprofit organization that assists in finding missing people, began to look for Millard last week and offered a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to his whereabouts. A representative for the organization informed that a bystander had reached out to the police to report a bad odor coming from the empty property, as per 11Alive. Reports state that Millard's body was discovered rolled up on a carpet and that was wrapped in plastic.
As per prior statements made by his wife, Amber, the father of five from Walton County, Georgia, had gone to Baton Rouge on a 24-hour work trip. But, Millard never made it back to his hotel room, which was just a short walk away, after watching a Louisiana State University basketball game and having drinks at the bar with a professional customer. According to reports, the space was undisturbed, and he was supposed to be at a meeting the following morning but didn't show up.

Following Millard's disappearance, his debit card was used, and his phone was found nearby the hotel. Pictures from the CCTV tape showed Millard escorting his client out of the Courtyard Marriott where they were staying that night. Millard reportedly FaceTimed his wife that evening from the LSU basketball game, Amber previously revealed to WSB TV. It was uncommon for him not to have texted her when she awoke the next morning. Moreover, Amber said that the police had shown her security footage of someone using his debit card to make a cash withdrawal from an ATM close to a Greyhound bus stop.
According to police, there is an ongoing investigation. There have been no arrests made. "This is an ongoing investigation. Additional information will be released as it becomes available," police informed. The father of four adolescent sons and a seven-year-old girl was traveling for business to scout out potential project sites for Conyers, a Georgia-based company Advanced Construction.
