Las Vegas Raiders cornerback Nate Hobbs begged Nevada Highway Patrol trooper not to arrest him as he was caught driving at 110 mph on a freeway last month, according to camera footage released on Tuesday, February 8.

Nate is seen pleading, “I’ve already been arrested two weeks ago.” He added, “Please, I’m begging you. I’m betting you. I cannot be arrested. This is my career.” KTNV 13 Action News tweeted, "I cannot be arrested again, sir. Please." Bodycam video shows what happened after Hobbs was pulled over on the 215 last month. Nevada State Police say he was driving at a speed of over 110 mph.”

According to the citation, a trooper saw Nate “overtake [his or her] patrol vehicle at [an] extremely high rate of speed.”

The trooper followed the driver, who was later identified as the Las Vegas Raiders cornerback. The ticket notes Hobbs made three lane changes “without signaling into [the] far right travel lane to overtake slower vehicles unsafely.” Attorneys for Hobbs, David Chesnoff and Richard Schonfeld, said in a statement to 8 News, “We understand that a traffic citation was issued to Mr Hobbs and we will address it in the court system.”

Fortunately, the patrol police only cited Nate and did not arrest him, though his car was towed. The officer let him go because of his cooperative nature. A couple of weeks ago, the Metropolitan Police Department arrested Hobbs on a DUI count after he was found sleeping behind the wheel of his car in a Strip parking garage.

According to Hobbs, “he was just tired” when an officer found him asleep behind the wheel of his Mercedes SUV. However the officer could smell a “slight odor” of an unknown alcoholic beverage coming from Hobbs' mouth.

“Hobbs admitted that he was just tired and that is the reason he fell asleep behind the wheel in the parking garage,” the officer said, but later his charges were dropped, and the Clark County District Attorney’s Office said he had not been legally impaired instead he pled guilty on January 26 to a minor charge of careless driving.

According to Las Vegas Justice Court logs, Hobbs' case is due in court on April 18 for the misdemeanor reckless driving case.
