Dr Brad Schaeffer returns to 'My Feet Are Killing Me' this week to help a girl walk pain-free. Dr Brad discovered a simple, non-surgical technique to treat his patient, Alyssa, whose left foot resembles a hand.

Alyssa is a nanny and her job entails standing on one's foot for lengthy periods, which may be a nightmare for someone with her kind of foot problem. Alyssa notes that the kid she nannies for refers to her foot as the "alien foot," which is why she is at the moment seeking help. Dr Brad wants to look for an alternative to amputating her toe. Alyssa, who is about to graduate, was born with an additional metatarsal on her left foot. It was removed for the first time when she was 6 months old, and she had her second surgery when she was 6 years old. The surgery's goal was to restore some function to the region, but it didn't work. She is now in constant and terrible discomfort.

Dr Brad begins by attempting to determine her condition or the type of discomfort she is experiencing. Alyssa admits to suffering foot pain while walking, particularly in the center of her foot. Dr Brad does remark that she has exceptional foot mobility. He also believes that Alyssa's Polydactyly at a younger age contributed to her experiencing wear and tear arthritis at her current age, which is highly unexpected. Dr Brad described how the continual bone-on-bone motion had worn down the cartilage. He also promises to relieve her of the pain.

Dr Brad suggests regenerative therapy in light of Alyssa's condition. He starts the therapy by infusing fresh stem cells around the arthritic region. The stem cells are intended to mend and revitalize the region around the arthritic joint - it helps regenerate that tissue and aids in the treatment of cartilage. This, however, does not suggest that the cartilage has been repaired. Dr Brad's major objective was to extend the procedure so that Alyssa may walk freely without the need for further operation.

Dr Brad employed lasers around the region after infusing the stem cells. The laser is designed to activate all the blood in the region, causing it to renew and be truly active. This allows the area to operate even better following stem cell injection. The second portion of the surgery, laser therapy, is a rather pleasant process that the patient appreciated. The laser was directed directly toward the source of the discomfort. Finally, with stem cells activated and significantly rejuvenated regions, Alyssa is grateful to Dr. Brad for devising an alternative to surgery.
