Why is 'Mrs Claus' popular on adult sites? PornHub reveals top searches for Christmas
PornHub shared its holiday stats and disclosed the top search terms on the site this Christmas. According to reports, the search for “Mrs Claus” has soared this holiday season, closely followed by terms like “Santa Claus” and “Elf”. It has been estimated that on December 25, searches for “Mrs. Claus” could go up to 401 percent higher than their December average, while “Santa Claus” and “Elf” could grow up 374 percent and 90 percent respectively.
Despite being the most searched term, the popularity of “Mrs. Claus” has reportedly declined since her peak three years ago. The other most searched category on the adult film site is “Hentai”. While releasing its “Year in Review” for 2021, PornHub stated: “hundreds of thousands of hentai videos can be found on our website, including professional productions, homemade animations made by fans and 3D generated scenes.”

According to Dr Laurie Betito, director of Pornhub's Sexual Wellness Center, “Cartoons are more fantastical than regular porn. Because it’s not real, it can go further, with less constraints that reality offers. Hentai porn also tends to have more of a storyline and people seem to be more and more drawn to context.”
Why is 'Mrs Claus' popular on adult sites?
There is no exact answer to this question, but Lee Roy Myers, the co-founder of the porn production studio WoodRocket, told VICE, “I’m not sure who created the idea of a sexy Mrs. Claus. But it makes sense to me that porn helped push the Mrs. Claus Loves the White & Jizzy Stuff narrative the same way that Coca-Cola pushed the Santa Loves the Brown & Fizzy Stuff narrative. Horny Mrs. Claus sells stuff.”
Misha Mayfair, a sex worker and artist, explained to VICE: “Mrs Claus is a MILF icon. Her image evokes the motherly love and safety we associate with Christmas in childhood. Her position is always that of caregiver. She’s the woman one hopes to be found by in a blizzard in the Arctic. She is nurturing. She is safety. Rarely is Mrs Claus outside of this dynamic and, in my experience, this is also true to men’s sexual fantasies. As a sex worker, I receive Christmas-themed requests and Mrs Claus is a mainstay in these.”
