'Sexualizing your own': Mother SLAMMED for photoshopping hourglass figure on 8-year-old daughter
A photo is supposed to preserve our memories but a mother has been facing the wrath of the internet after she shared a picture on Facebook of her children’s first day back at school. The picture was re-shared to a Reddit group called r/insaneparents.
The said photo has become a subject of outrage and criticism for the mother's extraordinary photoshop fail of the eight-year-old’s body. In the screenshot of the mother’s Facebook post, edited to protect the family’s identity, three children can be seen lined up for a back-to-school picture.

The caption reads, “First day of 1st, 4th and 6th grade! How?!” But the caption on the Reddit group called out the mother for the extreme photoshop. The caption reads, “This woman constantly photoshops her daughter’s body to look like this. She’s E I G H T.”
According to the New York Post, the daughter's one arm looks wavy in the photo, indicating that the picture has been stretched. Her development also looks advanced for an eight-year-old. As per the original poster, many of the mother’s Facebook friends frequently called her out for editing the pictures she uploads on her social media.
As per the outlet, the mother always “adamantly denies” modifying the pictures and claimed that her daughter “just looks like that.” However, the person who re-posted the photo said that the mother always deletes the negative comments.
The person added, “I’ve messaged the [moderators] here… offering a direct link proving the legitimacy of this post. I am NOT willing to post that publicly so please don’t ask.” The post was then locked by the moderators, which prevents the posting of any new comments.
Stop 'sexualizing your own' daughter'
Social media users agreed with the person who had posted the picture on Reddit, saying that the photo was indeed photoshopped.
One Reddit user wrote, "Sexualizing your own eight year old for Facebook is a new low bar but im some how not surprised."
Another added, "Guarantee that mom is terrible to the daughter IRL. 'You look fat. You need to lose weight', 'No boy is going to respect you if you act/dress like that', etc. That poor girl is going to suffer serious childhood trauma, and have mental and body issues as an adult. Attracted to toxic relationships. So on..."
A third chimed in, "Who's this lady fooling? No one's arms look like that. I legitimately laughed at the s**tty photoshop, TBH."
A fourth commented, "Wow! Just a sure fire way to not only attract pedophiles but to give your kid body image issues. I'm curious if the op got roasted on Facebook or not."
Before the post was locked, it had garnered more than 51.2K votes and 2,000 comments.
