'Moon Knight' Episode 6 Review: Oscar Isaac's standalone series ends on fitting note

Ammit and Arthur Harrow vs Khonshu and Marc Spector headlines the season finale of 'Moon Knight'. The Disney+ series ends just the way it started — grandiose, deadly, and delightfully weird. The six-episode Disney+ is a visual treat and also brings with it enough doses of comedy. Titled 'Gods and Monsters', the episode finally returns to the present where Harrow (Ethan Hawke) finally unleashes Ammit and the much-awaited Marc and Steven patch-up. May Calamawy plays her role to perfection as the series ends on a fitting note.
There's also the return of Tawaret and her avatar — Layla (Calamawy) as the duo takes on Ammit. 'Moon Knight's finale is surprisingly shorter in duration compared to the five episodes. The 42-minute episode pulls out all stops as the action takes precedence after what was a rather emotional episode 5. Getting right into the storyline, despite the predictability, the series makes for a riveting and fun watch, and ends by asking the more philosophical question of 'Are gods actually monsters?'

While the ending is predictable, it's the mid-credits scene that puts the finishing touches on the introduction of Jake Lockley, the second most prominent alter of Spector in the comics. Lockley is portrayed as a tough cabbie in New York. It was meant to act as the character's detective side. Through his work as a cab driver, he builds sources. Since the MCU has already introduced Steven Grant and Marc Spector, it made sense that the next alter was Lockley, and while it took its time since being teased from Episode 3, the wait was definitely worth it. 'Moon Knight' doesn't tie up to any of the MCU movies just yet, or at least the absence of a post-credits scene suggests so. If this was meant to be a standalone series, then it's worked.
