'Money Heist: Korea - Joint Economic Area' Episode 5: Is Tokyo dead? An assassination attempt changes everything

Things are getting intense now and the penultimate episode of Part One is going to play an important role in how the story will move forward. The heist team is getting desperate while the joint force squad is trying to find a way to have the Professor in their grasp. Episode 5 opens with Seon talking to Sunho (also known as the Professor) about her personal life. After the conversation ends, they end up having sex.
However, things are getting problematic for Seon because Captain Cha gets to know that the heist team wanted Seon to be the negotiator and he starts thinking if she’s a traitor. As soon as the aforementioned information is out, Cha is pressured to use Park, the police officer that stayed inside the mint, to neutralize the threat and bring down the heist. Cha orders his agent to kill the Professor and end the heist.

On the other hand, he keeps another team on standby and tells them to kill the heist team once the Professor is dead. However, he tells them to keep everything secret because they have a traitor amongst them, referring to Seon. Meanwhile, inside the mint, the heist team lets everyone knows that Yoon is still alive and the hostages are really happy to see her. Nairobi lets everyone know that they have no intention of hurting anyone and Tokyo is now the new leader because the professor has decided to keep Berlin off the mission for some time.

Back at the tent, Seon calls Professor, and this time they talk about food which indicates that people inside the mint need food. She says that the food will be given to them in order to regain his trust. However, one of her colleagues is not happy with how she’s handling everything and scolds her.
Meanwhile, inside the mint, the agent has found Anne, daughter of the US Ambassador, amongst the hostages and asks about The Professor. She tells the agent that she doesn’t know about the identity of the Professor, but she’ll help him find out.
Outside the mint, Seon realizes that Professor is not inside the mint because of the conversation she just had with him. Cha’s phone gets bugged and although he is unsure, he says yes to track down a suspected car that they found on the CCTV that is possibly linked to the heist team. The Professor calls Oslo and asks if he disposed of the car they used as part of their heist planning. It’s clear that the vehicle car wasn’t dealt with properly.

In order to know about The Professor, the agent inside the mint captures Denver to get all the info. Cho and the agent interrogate Denver, while Cho is convinced that Tokyo is The Professor. As the interrogation finishes, the police officer sets off the fire alarms and Rio doesn’t have a clue why they are on.
As soon as the situation gets worse, Rio gets to see Berlin and finds him having a seizure. However, it turns out that he was bluffing and chokes him out. Meanwhile, Cho beats Denver because he is tied up. At that time, Yoon arrives and saves Denver from Cho. Cho believes that she and Denver are having an affair and tries hitting Denver with a sharp tool. But Denver manages to kick him and get out of the situation.
In the ending moments of the penultimate episode, Tokyo walks into a trap laid by the police officer and when it seemed that Tokyo will be dead, Denver arrives and tells her that they need to call The Professor. We hear a gunshot and Captain Cha gets to learn that The Professor is not inside the mint.
Things are getting intense now and the last episode of Part 1 is sure to keep the tensions high.
