Money Can't Buy Me Love? Here's why Elon Musk believes AOC 'would never date' him
WASHINGTON, DC: Elon Musk has revealed the heartbreaking reason why Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez would "never" date him, saying he is "not cool enough" for her. The social media foes have grabbed headlines on numerous occasions over their heated exchanges on the internet.
The sensational back and forth began after the Tesla CEO acquired Twitter in a staggering $44 billion deal last year. In light of their online antics, one Twitter user asked Musk if their contentious exchanges could ever culminate in a romance between them, despite the New York congresswoman being currently engaged.

'I’m not cool enough'
“Alas she would never date me I’m not cool enough,” Musk bemoaned in response to the query, which featured a filtered image of AOC with blonde hair and blue eyes.
The New York Post reported how the tech mogul complimented the Democrat politician last year by saying she has “great taste in lipstick.” The kind words came during an appearance on the "Full Send" podcast in which several co-hosts passed comments the young congresswoman's looks. Two of the co-hosts said they found the New York socialist "attractive," while another said she was "alright." Musk subsequently chimed in. “Yeah, great choice of lipstick I think. Great taste in lipstick, I mean, that’s my observation. That’s a genuine compliment,” the SpaceX CEO gushed, adding, “Tell me I’m wrong.”
'Stop hitting on me, I’m really shy'
A couple of months prior, Musk told AOC to "stop hitting on" him after she attacked him over “an explosion of hate crimes” that she felt followed his acquisition of Twitter. “Tired of having to collectively stress about what explosion of hate crimes is happening bc some billionaire with an ego problem unilaterally controls a massive communication platform and skews it because Tucker Carlson or Peter Thiel took him to dinner and made him feel special,” the congresswoman tweeted in April 2022.
“Stop hitting on me, I’m really shy,” he quipped, alongside a smiling emoticon. According to The Post, the line could be a reference to her claims that Republican critics on the platform just wanted to date her. “I was talking about Zuckerberg but ok,” AOC retorted, before ultimately deleting the response. In a follow-up tweet, she wrote, "Like I said, ego problems," adding a shrugging emoticon.

'I would love to switch'
The following month, Ocasio-Cortez told Bloomberg News she wanted to ditch her Tesla Model 3 for a car from a company that uses union labor. “At the time, it was the only EV that could get me from New York to Washington on like one, or one-and-a-half charges,” she said of her Tesla. “I would love to switch.” Meanwhile, Musk posted a Twitter poll asking his followers whom they trusted lesser -- billionaires or politicians. After the poll said politicians, Musk dared AOC to run a similar poll with her own followers.
'Your feedback is appreciated'
In November, the duo's online feud dominated the news cycle once again after AOC criticized Musk's decision to charge verified Twitter users. “Lmao at a billionaire earnestly trying to sell people on the idea that ‘free speech’ is actually a $8/mo subscription plan,” the congresswoman posted about Twitter’s plan to implement an $8-a-month fee for users who wanted blue check marks. The businessman, however, shot back saying, “Your feedback is appreciated, now pay $8."
