MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA: A mother’s bathroom cleaning hack has gotten her numerous likes as well as comments after she posted it on Facebook. The unidentified woman shared her secret on ‘Mums Who Cook, Clean and Organise' - a private Facebook page.

She wrote as reported by The Daily Mail, “Mums! I've cracked the code! This took me not more than a minute and not a lot of effort - I couldn't believe my eyes.” The woman claimed to have added bicarbonate of soda with Domestos disinfectant bleach to make the cleaning paste which she put on the grouts with the help of an old toothbrush.

‘It was gone in an instant’

She mentioned, “In most places, I didn't even leave it, just a light brushing, it was gone in an instant.” The mother also reportedly released before and after photos of her bathroom, receiving over 1,200 likes and supportive comments. A user said, “I'm off to go scrub everything in the house!” The second user wrote, “Well I know what I'm doing while the kids are at school.” The third user shared, “Just bought Domestos! Will give it a go.”

However, not everyone was impressed because of the mix of chemicals she used. A person commented, “Be careful people when mixing chemicals, don't ever mix vinegar and bleach.” Another person stated, “Good on you for experimenting and finding a solution to something that so many people struggle with - please carefully research your chemicals before mixing!”

‘Spread the word’

Meanwhile, just like this mother, another cleaning pro recently shared her miracle tip to make window glasses shine. Chiana Dickson said, “My favourite, however, is cleaning with The Pink Stuff. I used The Pink Stuff to do it, which is why I call it 'Pink & Blink'. Spread the word.”

She described on the website Homes & Garden, “This miracle cleaning paste worked wonders for cleaning my glass shower doors and removing hard water stains, so I had to give it a go on my windows. To apply the paste, I used a soft sponge, working in small circular motions from top to bottom. The paste is a light abrasive, helping to scrub away layers of dust and dirt without scratching the glass.”

“What’s more, the paste contains sodium silicate, an ingredient ideal for breaking down grease and preventing hard water stains from forming on surfaces by breaking down calcium and magnesium deposits. For this reason, I also love it for cleaning stainless steel sinks,” Dickson stated, before adding, “For any areas where the paste stuck, I used a clean, damp, soft microfiber cloth to wipe it away.

“While the traditional method of cleaning windows uses a standard squeegee to help remove water from the glass, I opt for a window vac to collect excess water and prevent streaking. I then buffed small water lines from the corners of the windows with a clean, dry, soft microfiber to the perfect result.”
