Who is Michael Scott? Video shows 4 students ATTACKING teacher at Texas high school
On February 10, 2022, a Texas high school teacher suffered a broken arm after a brutal attack by four middle school students. According to reports, four students of the Aragon Middle School were arrested for attacking Michael Shott at Langham Creek High School. The school has also had to beef up security, following threats made via social media.
The incident is just the latest in a long line of violent outbursts by students. On February 8, we reported on the viral video of a student at Las Vegas High School brutally beating a classmate, while a teacher tries to stop the attack. In December 2021, a Brooklyn public school seized 21 weapons after a surprise check on students, following the discovery of a ghost gun. As we reported, experts have tied the rising violence to mental health, as students struggle to navigate the pandemic.

Despite efforts, the violence continues to grow on school campuses, leading to some truly deadly attacks. The latest involves Shott, who was forced to run away after being attacked by students, while others filmed the brutal attack.
Who is Michael Shott?
Reports say Shott is a physics teacher at Langham Creek High, located in Harris County, Texas. Schott also serves as an assistant coach for the school's men's baseball team, according to the school's website. It is reported that Shott was coaching a class the day he was attacked. Little else is known about Shott, who doesn't appear to have a presence on social media. He suffered a broken arm as a result of the attack, which occurred because "he was doing his job," Shott's mother Peggy told ABC 13.
Reports say the four students were riding dirt bikes or ATVs on the grounds of Langham Creek High. "I heard there were kids doing donuts and stuff, causing a ruckus with their dirt bikes," one student said. "The coach wasn’t happy with it. He asked them politely to stop doing that. The kids weren’t having that, so they decided to jump him," the student added. The students then chased the coach and began punching him after he fell down. It appears he managed to get away in the end.
The school confirmed the incident while adding that the suspects "were in custody." "The incident that took place is extremely unacceptable and will be disciplined according to the CFISD Student Code of Conduct," added Principal Jose Martinez. The following day, extra security was visible on campus, after reports that the school received threats on social media. One parent said, "There was a threat that somebody was going to come shoot up the school."
It is believed the threats to Langham Creek High were made by friends of the four middle school students who were arrested, but so far the police have not confirmed if that is the case. Schott did not show up on February 11 to school, but it appears his injuries aren't very serious. Peggy added, "He’s doing fine. He’s at home. He has a broken arm." Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District along with police are investigating the case. It's unclear as of now what charges the four face, and if they are still in jail, or have been let out on bail.
