PHOENIX, ARIZONA: An Arizona man is facing murder charges for killing his 80-year-old stepfather. In a shocking manner, 48-year-old Michael Trevlyn Kaser confessed to the crime and stated that he should have done it a long time ago, a report said. Apparently, Kaser shot his stepfather Michael Kinney, after returning from a Christmas family dinner

The Gilbert police were first called out to lodge the report of a suspicious car spotted on Osborne Lane, near Recker and Warner roads, around 4:30 p.m. on Sunday. When they arrived, they found the car with what appeared to have multiple bullet holes in the windshield. A man was found unresponsive inside, with blood coming out from his mouth. The police tried CPR but unfortunately, he was pronounced dead at the scene by the paramedics who arrived at the spot, the police report mentioned.

As per Arizona's Family, police saw a man a short time later, now identified as Michael Trevlyn Kaser, coming out from the house through the garage. As officers approached and tried to detain him, he uttered, “I killed my stepfather,” and “I should have killed him a long time ago.” According to police, they discovered six shot shells on the garage floor as well as blood on Kaser's jacket. At the time, a witness informed the authorities that he had heard Kinney shouting, “I’m going to fu**ing kill you” before the shooting occurred.

The report also mentioned that Kaser apparently acknowledged the crime during police questioning as well. Kaser along with his mother and stepfather were returning from Christmas dinner when he got out of the vehicle and went inside the house to get a .380 pistol. He came back outside when Kinney was coming into the driveway and fired a number of bullets into the driver's side glass. He then reached into the car after the shooting and pushed the transmission into neutral. The vehicle then reversed back down the driveway and collided with a neighboring house.

Kaser said he didn't want to hurt anyone else and that he did not notice or remember due to a fit of rage, that his mother was still sitting in the car. When Kaser was asked the reason behind his shocking act, he simply said he was “done” with Kinney. Kaser alleged that his stepfather had physically and mentally abused him and his mother for years. He also said that he had thought about killing Kinney for the better part of 20 years and in one incident he had almost killed him. At present, Kaser faces a first-degree murder charge and a single weapon possession charge.
