Americal reality television personality Meri Brown from 'Sister Wives' is husband Kody Brown's first wife. A fan-favorite, the 48-year-old star has shown off her independence and stood up against the patriarch during the hit show's eighth season. Brown was the only legal wife of the show's star, and they married when Meri was 19 years old.

Amid all the rumors and speculation about whether the New York Times bestselling author is going to call it quits with Kody, which the star eventually slammed in December last year, it must still be comforting for her to know that she can afford to do so. Here's all about what she does for a living.

What is Meri Brown's net worth?

Apart from amassing a fortune from the show's success, Brown also makes some money as a business owner and New York Times best-selling author. While Kody has an estimated net worth of $800,000, Meri is worth $400,000 alone, according to Celebrity Net Worth. Most of the money comes from filming their polygamy-centered reality show, which makes anywhere from a predicted $25,000 to $40,000 per episode, according to Good Housekeeping, but that's not all. Meri also has enough side gigs that contribute to her income.

In 2016, Meri became an ambassador for popular women's clothing brand LulaRoe, for which goes gangbusters with sales. The exact percentage of each sale that Meri banks for herself is not known but as of 2017, LuLaRoe required consultants to make consecutive sales for four months above $12,000 per month in order to qualify for a cruise which the brand often awards its top consultants every year. On meeting the target, a report by The Hollywood Gossip said, one can earn about $144,000 from LuLaRoe. Meri and 'Sister Wives' co-star Christine went on the trip in 2019, implying that she earned $288,000 as a bonus from the company that year. And that's just the bonus.

Meri opened a bed-and-breakfast in Utah called Lizzie's Heritage Inn, in 2017. Being the great-great-granddaughter of the original owner, who the inn is named after, Meri operates as an innkeeper of the property built by the Adams family in 1870. The cost of rooms at the establishment runs from $125 to $155 each night. Meri had offered Janelle, Christine and Robyn a chance to invest in this business, but all three had turned her down, prompting Meri to dub her co-stars as selfish, although the move has eventually worked out in her favor, since she alone pockets the profits.

According to Heavy, Lizzie's Heritage Inn is one of the most successful bed and breakfasts in the state of Utah. The inn offers homemade jams, jellies, syrups and rice crispies in Sarah's Corner, their website shop. The Lilac Blossom Jelly is one of their unique wares. And with their delectable s'mores french toast, waffles, cookies, Streusel and cinnamon cakes, guests can expect quite a treat!
