On January 20, before President Joe Biden took the oath, Donald and Melania Trump left the White House and flew to Florida. Before their departure, many reports speculated that the former first couple would split after leaving Washington, DC. In 2020, Donald’s former aide Omarosa Manigault Newman even said, “Melania is counting every minute until he is out of office and she can divorce.” However, as per a report by Express.co.uk, a source believed to be a former friend of the pair has said to The Times that no divorce will happen between the former model and the Republican. The insider said that Melania and Donald are different from the Bidens and the Obamas, who are touchy-feely or sentimental. “They don’t believe in the lovey-dovey-type stuff. Not at all,” the source added.

January 22 was the 16th marriage anniversary of Melania and Trump, who share a teenage son Barron. R Couri Hay, a society publicist and “friendly acquaintance” of the duo told The Times if Melania officially left Donald, he would be “shocked”. “The likelihood is 99.99% they will stay together. I’d truly be shocked if Melania formally separated and divorced from her husband. She grew up in a pseudo-communist difficult life. When she married, she wanted stability, romantic stability, financial stability, and through it all the one thing still standing is that marriage,” Hay explained.

Some reports have claimed that when the 74-year-old was the president of America and resided at the White House, he did not sleep with Melania in the same room. "Donald Trump slept in his own bedroom, which was previously a study or den during other administrations,” an insider told CNN. Some sources also said that Melania just wanted to “go home” as Donald’s term as the president came to an end. They added that the former first lady was actually “not sad to be leaving” Washington. She seemed happy and held her husband’s hand while leaving for Florida.

In his farewell speech at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland, Donald called Melania a “woman of great grace and beauty and dignity” and "so popular with the people”, while the 50-year-old said, “Being your first lady was my greatest honor. Thank you for your love and support. You will be in my thoughts and prayers. God bless you all, God bless your families and God bless this beautiful nation." Previously, two days before Biden’s inauguration, Melania shared a seven-minute message that stated, “The past four years have been unforgettable. As Donald and I conclude our time in the White House, I think of all the people I have taken home in my heart and their incredible stories of love, patriotism and determination.”

Meanwhile, an earlier report said that if Melania divorced Donald, she would win custody of their son Barron and $50 million. New York divorce lawyer Jacqueline Newman had said, “I am guessing that she will receive actual cash payments as well as properties. Should she move back to New York City, he will be providing housing for her, whether it means her retaining property in her own name or that he will provide her with an apartment to live in, which he would own, until their son is emancipated, which is 21 in New York. She will also retain any assets that are currently in her own name. I would not be surprised if the amounts range between $20 million and $50 million."
