Trump calls Melania a ‘woman of great grace and beauty and dignity’, Internet asks ‘what grace?’
Donald Trump along with his wife Melania left for Mar-a-Lago on Wednesday morning, January 20. The couple arrived at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland just after 8:30 am and addressed the media while ‘All Hail the Chief’ was played by a military band. The Republican leader said, “People have no idea how hard this family worked. They could have had a much easier life, but they just, they did a fantastic job.” He added, “This has been an incredible four years. We’ve accomplished so much together.”
In addition, Trump also praised his former model wife as he called her a “woman of great grace and beauty and dignity” and "so popular with the people”. Melania also spoke about her experience as the first lady of the US and stated, “Being your first lady was my greatest honor. Thank you for your love and support. You will be in my thoughts and prayers. God bless you all, God bless your families and God bless this beautiful nation." Earlier, Melania released a seven-minute message - two days before Joe Biden’s inauguration. At the time she said, “The past four years have been unforgettable. As Donald and I conclude our time in the White House, I think of all the people I have taken home in my heart and their incredible stories of love, patriotism and determination.”
Trump's speech at Joint Base Andrews also saw him talking about his achievements, stressing on the Covid-19 and how the pandemic impacted his administration and the nation as a whole. “Everything is complex, be careful,” he said, before adding, "You are amazing people and this is a great, great country it is an honor and privilege to have been your president. We will be back, in some form.”
But what attracted the attention of the Internet users was Trump labeling Melania a “woman of great grace” and in no name time, people started expressing their thoughts on the statement. “What Grace? Oh how she held tradition and invited Dr. Biden to tour the WH as grace as extended to her? ‘I really don’t care do you’ — that grace and dignity?” one user pointed it out. Another said, “Wrong we do not like her. Hugely.” “This couple has snubbed America over and over again and they're receiving airtime,” the third one commented. “She was never our First Lady,” the fourth user said while the fifth one added, “She’s no lady.”

“So disappointed. Why are they starting today with this negativity, foolishness bs. Noone cares about DT leaving. Why support this man’s exit and sore losership after he tore up this country and left it in ruin. Let him leave as classless as he came in. This is Joe’s day!” a person on Twitter showed their disappointment while another one tweeted: “Why the F**k are the networks televising this bullshit? This is further enabling the rhetoric of a sick individual that NEVER should have been president in the first place.”
