Melania Trump's sleeveless fuchsia RNC dress with black ties stumps Internet: 'Death? Angel's wings? Leeches?'
After getting mixed reviews for her military-inspired jacket and skirt while delivering her speech on the second night of the Republican National Convention, Melania decided to opt for a pop of color for the third night. However, the detailing of her dress left many confused.
President Donald Trump and the first lady made a surprise visit at Fort McHenry National Monument and Historic Shrine in Baltimore to watch Mike Pence accept his official vice presidential nomination. For the occasion, she donned a high-neck bright fuchsia fit-and-flare gown, which was sleeveless and featured a drawstring waist with black ties at either side. The outfit, designed by Jason Wu, continued into a full pleated midi skirt which cut off just above her ankles.
She completed her look with a pair of her favorite Manolo Blahnik classic black pumps and stuck to her signature make-up look which consisted of smokey eyes with nude lip gloss. While people on social media liked the fact that Melania had finally decided to opt for something vibrant rather than sticking to her go-to neutral colors, many of them found the ties hanging off the sides of her dress to be weird.
"What the f**k was hanging off both sides of @FLOTUS' dress tonight? Leeches?" one asked, while another, commented, "What the HELL kind of dress is #MelaniaTrump wearing? Is that black an untied belt or untied bows? She usually dresses nice but that dress is RIDICULOUS. Would be beautiful without the black *things* hanging down" A third said, "Melania’s dress has black ribbons? Pow/MIA? Represents death traditionally?" A fourth said, "Melania’s dress is an example of the Trump administration a loud tent that holds many with dark ties to criminals."

However, not everyone hated the way the FLOTUS looked. One of the fans of the dress tweeted, "Lovely Melania standing there with her hand over her heart, in that stunningly gorgeous fuchsia dress, her hair flowing perfectly in the breeze. Mind blown. #MagnificentMelania@FLOTUS" While another said, "Anyone notice that Melania Trump's dress looked like it had angel wings on it?" A third remarked, "Melania fantastic speech yesterday and you look beautiful tonight and last night !! Most beautiful First Lady ever — love the pink dress tonight !! We adore you First Lady Melania."

On August 25, Melania garnered a lot of attention not just for her speech from the White House Rose Garden but for the stunning outfit that she had been wearing. Melania, 50, was seen sporting a military-inspired outfit that featured a deep green blazer as well as a matching skirt. The jacket had been designed by Alexander McQueen and really got people on social media talking. Melania had matched her skirt and jacket to a pair of Christian Louboutins. She chose to leave her hair loose, falling over her shoulders.
CNN's Kate Bennett shared that it seemed that the McQueen jacket had also been worn by the likes of models such as Kaia Gerber. Hunter Schwartz from Yellow Line revealed that the jacket sells for around $2,450 though it is currently on sale at Far Fetched for 40% off. As we reported earlier, Melania's choice of wardrobe received much praise from social media users though there were some who did not approve of the look.
