Former Fox News anchor and NBC 'Today' show host Megyn Kelly took to Twitter to slam White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki over her seemingly placid comments on NY Governor Cuomo's controversy #CuomoCoverup. Cuomo has been accused of holding back data about nursing home deaths during the pandemic.

Kelly took to Twitter to call out Jen Psaki's latest appearance on ABC's 'This Week' where she didn't directly condemn Cuomo's actions. She wrote "Psaki projects total fear in every exchange. Her meekness is maddening. So I guess we shouldn't be surprised she lacks the courage to do as even the Dem AG of NYS has done and call Cuomo's lie a lie."

You can watch the video in Arthur Schwartz's tweet criticizing Psaki. "Biden's press secretary repeatedly refuses to condemn Andrew Cuomo's actions that led to the deaths of thousands of elderly New York nursing home residents."

#CuomoCoverup has taken over social media in a big way in the last week as investigations by the Federal Bureau of Investigation as well as officials with the US attorney's office in Brooklyn into Cuomo's handling of nursing homes and other matter related to the pandemic are underway, according to reports. Social media users aren't happy with Biden administration's comments.

On the show, it was brought to attention that Biden had said the "governor of New York has done one hell of a job" and that he thinks Cuomo is "sort of the gold standard."

To which Psaki responded, "We work with Gov. Cuomo just like we work with governors across the country. He’s also the chair of the NGA [National Governors Association] so he plays an important role in ensuring that we’re coordinating closely and getting assistance out to people of his state and to states across the country and we’ll continue to do that."

Psaki went on to say that "there, of course, will be a process," which she said will include investigations, adding that "we’ll leave that to others to determine, the appropriate law enforcement authorities to determine how that path is going to move as we look forward." She then added that "we are going to continue to work with a range of governors, including of course Gov. Cuomo because we think the people of New York, the people of states across the country need assistance, not just to get through the pandemic, but to get through this difficult economic time and that’s where our focus remains."

On Twitter, Psaki is being slammed. "@PressSec Saki doesn't care that Cuomo committed criminal fraud and that his incompetence in wasting billions of dollars trump gave him, caused the death of so many seniors who died alone! She is a bigot hypocrite and a liar, her hair covering her face is so she can lie!" one tweeted. "Psaki is out of her league and any fool can see she is so full of shit," another user added. Criticism for Psaki continued as many called her conniving, but not in so many words. "Psaki may be a lot of evil bad things but meek is not one of them! Everything out of her mouth is calculated and on purpose," a user added.

Kelly was earlier in the news for calling out news platforms for the Capitol riots. "They hated him so much, they checked their objectivity,” Kelly told BBC’s Katty Kay on 'Newsnight'. "It wasn’t just CNN, all of them did. They just couldn't check their own personal feelings about him... Part of the reason we saw what happened at the Capitol here two weeks ago is because there has been a complete lack of trust, a destruction of trust in the media, and people don’t know where to turn for true information."
