'Mayor of Kingstown' Episode 3: What happened to Kenny? Here's how Mike's plan backfired
It's safe to say that this one episode is where the entire crux of the series is held. That's how powerful the scenes are. After we learn that Iris is being tossed back and forth from one gang leader to the next, you tend to want to jump through the screen and just protect the woman at all costs. She's just seen too much in her life. And protecting her... that's exactly what Mike does and promises to.
When he finds out that Milo Sunter put in a chip to track Iris, he performs surgery (with whatever experience he has) on her so that she won't have eyes on her wherever she goes. Right after, he drives as fast as he can to the house Iris was put up at and shoots all the men who took advantage of Iris point-blank in the head.
On the drive back to someplace safe for Iris, the latter tells Mike that she has never been on a real date, has never been asked to movies, or even wondered about the mystery of love, in all its glory. This scene is quite raw, with Iris being her most vulnerable yet comfortable self, with Mike. Indeed, a beautifully delivered scene, in every aspect.
What lies in store for Iris now? Will she start a new life all over, with Mike to help her through? Stay tuned to know more!
