Spoilers ahead for season 2 episode 5 of 'Mayans MC' titled 'Xquic'

Episode 5 of 'Mayans MC' mainly revolved around the Mayans and the Galindo cartel working together to rescue Adelita (Carla Baratta)  from Potter.

After Miguel (Danny Pino) informs the club that their assistance is required for the operation, they all join in, including EZ (JD Pardo) and obviously Angel (Clayton Cardenas). With this operation in motion, the mystery of their mother's death is put on hold.

As the Mayans and the Galindo cartel follow Potter's (Ray McKinnon) mercenaries, Emily (Sarah Bolger) is on a quest of her own.

After unsuccessfully questioning Miguel about his feelings for Adelita — a conversation from which she walks away visibly dissatisfied, Emily channels her energy into digging deeper into the past.

In the last episode, she saw Felipe's (Edward James Olmos) truck parked outside the medical facility where Dita (Ada Maris) was supposed to meet her psychiatrist.

Later in the episode, after looking around Dita's room for a while, she finds the same old photograph of Dita, Jose Galindo and Felipe together, which suggests he was working for Galindo in Mexico.

However, all of this doesn't make sense to her — why would Dita carry this photograph around with her? Why does Felipe show up every now and then around Dita?

To know more, she visits the family store, where she finds more photographs and, what are later disclosed as travel itineraries. Armed with this new-found information, Emily visits Felipe at the butcher shop.

She shows him the photographs, the itineraries and asks him how he was always traveling with Dita. Could this mean he was her bodyguard?

When Felipe doesn't release any information, she prods him further telling him that her inquiries come from a genuine place of concern, adding that Dita hasn't told them what had happened the night of the fire.

Felipe tells her that while he knows what happened, he still doesn't know "anything more than you do". He doesn't tell her Emily anything else.

"This history, all it'll do is hurt the ones you love," Felipe tells Emily and retires from the situation asking her to trust him.

Dejected, Emily is ready to leave the butcher shop but not before apologising to Felipe about suddenly springing the past at him. A worried Felipe asks her if Miguel knows about the photographs and has seen them.

When Emily says no, Felipe is relieved but only momentarily as he knows this will be out sooner or later. Who will oust Felipe and Dita? 'Mayans MC' airs Tuesdays at 10 PM on FX.
