John Matthew Stafford was born on February 7, 1988, in Tampa, Florida, to John and Margaret Stafford. He has an older sister named Page and the family lived in Dunwoody, Georgia, where his father attended graduate school at the University of Georgia. They later moved to Dallas, Texas, where he attended Highland Park High School. He then went to University of Georgia, and played for the Bulldogs before making it to the Detroit Lions first overall during the 2009 NFL Draft. He currently holds the NFL record for the most comeback wins - 8 in a season - and also ranks in the top 20 all-time in pass attempts, completions, passing yards, and passing touchdowns.
