‘Masters of the Air’ Episode 6 starts with the aftermath of the Munster mission, centering around Major John 'Bucky' Egan (Callum Turner) and Major Harry Crosby (Anthony Boyle).
Following the devastating Munster mission, the surviving members of the 100th Bomb Group are granted time off to recover. However, with the loss of 32 members out of 35 crews, the crewmen are grappling with diminishing hope.
Major Harry Crosby receives instruction to go to Oxford University
After the harrowing last mission, Major Harry Crosby receives instructions to attend a conference at Oxford University, representing the 100th Bomb Group.
Still grieving Bubbles' death, Major Crosby blames himself for the devastation.
At Oxford, he encounters Sandra (Bel Powley) and, in a vulnerable moment, discusses Bubbles.
Crosby believes he should have been the one to die and not Bubbles. However, Sandra says that Hitler is solely responsible for all the death and destruction.
In a gesture of connection, Sandra provides Crosby with her number, encouraging him to reach out in the future.
What happens to Major John 'Bucky' Egan?
‘Masters of the Air’ Episode 6 intensifies the focus on Major John 'Bucky' Egan. In enemy territory, he is brutally beaten by the Germans and is transported into the heart of Nazi Germany.
Executing a daring escape plan by feigning death, Bucky's resilience is tested as he is captured again and interrogated by Lt. Haussmann (Louis Hofmann).
The final scene takes a grim turn as Bucky finds himself in a concentration camp, becoming a prisoner of war. However, a glimmer of hope emerges as he spots Major Gale 'Buck' Cleven (Austin Butler) behind the fencing, alive and well.
Back at base, the surviving members of the 100th Bomb Group are losing hope.
