As the 100th Bomb Group departs for the next mission, Crosby prays for the safe return of his friends, patiently awaiting their arrival back at the base.
Joseph Bubbles Payne’s death shatters Major Crosby
In Episode 5 of 'Masters of the Air,' Major Crosby receives the heartbreaking news of Bubbles' death. Out of 13 planes that traveled to Munster for the next mission, only one returned.
