Who is Jacqueline Fischer? Maryland school board member quits after wishing Trump would die of Covid-19
A Maryland school board member resigned on Tuesday, October 6, from the Washington County Board of Education following her Facebook post where she wished President Donald Trump would die from coronavirus. Jacqueline Fischer, who had first been elected to the Washington County School Board in 2002, had expressed her wishes on social media, Fox News reports.
The post had read, "Since he has tested positive for COVID19, maybe the country will get lucky and he will die. Wouldn’t that be an act of karma! He could care less how many Americans die from this even if he is the one who exposed them. I hope he dies from it. That would solve a lot of America’s problems."
"Mrs. Fischer’s resignation comes after posting comments regarding the President of the United States on her personal social media account. The comments do not reflect the views, positions, or opinions of WCPS (Washington County Public Schools) or the WCBOE (Washington County Board of Education)," Herald-Mail Media cited a statement from Washington County Public Schools.
Fischer had reportedly served on the board between 2002 and 2006 and then in 2010, 2014 and 2018. Her current term which had started in 2018 was set to expire in 2022. The development came after community members expressed their concerns over the now-deleted posts by Fischer on her personal account as well as on the Washington County Public Schools page on Facebook.
Many social media users took to the comments section to slam Fischer for her attitude. One such user wrote, "The school is blessed to have her resign she indicates she has tunnel vision and cannot accept all people and individuals’ decisions." Another said, "What’s worse than that is she’s on the board of education and she writes could care less. Ignorant and illiterate. It’s couldn’t care less. She’s allegedly an educator and this is what we get." "This is an example of the scumbags involved in our children’s education. Wishing our President or any other person for that matter to die ?? !! Pure trash," yet another user shared.

Some, however, seemed to be in support of Fischer and her post and shared the same. One wrote, "Considering eight teachers have died nationwide from the Trump Virus, she was right. I wish her the best!" Another commented: "I`m sure their will be many hoping her wishes apply to you."

We had earlier reported that President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump tested positive for Covid-19 on Friday, October 2. Trump himself had taken to Twitter to confirm the news and said,"Tonight, FLOTUS, and I tested positive for COVID-19. We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately. We will get through this TOGETHER!" He recently left the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center on Monday, October 5, after spending three nights there and asked the people of America not to feel afraid of the coronavirus that has hit him as well. However, his doctor at the White House said the same day that the commander-in-chief is in “uncharted territory” with his health condition even as the latter announced his will to return home.
Dr Sean Conley, who has been accused of not revealing the president’s health conditions, said at a press conference outside the Bethesda medical facility, "We all remain cautiously optimistic and on guard because we’re in a bit of uncharted territory when it comes to a patient that received the therapies he has so early in the course." "So we’re looking to this weekend, if we can get through to Monday with him remaining the same or improving, then we will all take that final deep sigh of relief."
