Mary Trump trolls Donald Trump's defense lawyer David Schoen and calls Ted Cruz 'seditionist, traitor'

As the second day of the impeachment trial rolled by, Mary Trump, the estranged niece of Donald Trump, tweeted constantly about what was unfolding

Even as Donald Trump reportedly watched the impeachment proceedings with frustration from his Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida, someone else in the Trump family watching was equally invested and frustrated. But not for the same reasons. As the second day of the impeachment trial rolled by, Mary Trump, the estranged niece of Donald Trump, tweeted constantly about what was unfolding.

This is in sharp contrast to former President Donald Trump himself who was unable to tweet to give his reactions. This is completely unlike his first impeachment trial experience, during which he posted up to 142 tweets in a single day. Mary Trump, while not as prodigious in her output, did not shy away from slinging some zingers at her uncle's defense lawyers.

When Trump's defense lawyer David Schoen said: "I know this is a lot to listen to at once, a lot of words. But words are what make our Constitution, frankly", Mary Trump tweeted sarcastically in quote marks: "Words are what make our Constitution," to "Pretty sure this is the textbook definition of craven. Also, why can't republicans drink water like normal human beings?" and also, "So we won't regret it if we fail to punish the guy who incited an armed insurrection? Cool."

But behind all the sarcasm, Mary Trump also seemed to be genuinely saddened at the GOP members' response to the impeachment proceedings. She tweeted: "I know I should be enraged, disgusted, horrified, and outraged. On some level I am all of those things, but mostly right now I’m heartbroken."

Followers of her tweet thread responded with their own opinions, mostly agreeing with her. "The best way to respond to the unscrupulous Republican senators who today still voted against it being constitutional to impeach trump is by voting them all out! They have all broken and continue to violate their oath of office! Same for those in the House!! Shameful behavior!!".

Another tweet gave recommendations about what could be done if Donald Trump was acquitted, saying: "The AG of DC is considering charging him for inciting the riot that caused the deaths of 5 civilians. Thats our only hope, as well as AG in Manhattan and SDNY for tax evasion and bank fraud. I don't have faith in our gov. To hold him accountable for anything becuz of Repubs" 

Mary Trump also reserved special ire for Schoen railing against the "snap judgment" impeachment of Trump. She tweeted: "If you're playing a drinking game, please take the word "snap" off your list immediately." By the time it was time to vote whether the proceedings were constitutional, she did not mince her words, saying: "This vote is very hard to take, especially since there are actual seditionists being allowed to participate in it". She was also pleased about Ted Cruz being called out for his about-turn on Donald Trump after the Capitol riots. "Nice to hear co-conspirator, seditionist, and traitor @tedcruz get a shout out," she tweeted.

Mary Trump, who is also a psychologist, has consistently been critical of Donald Trump and her cousins, spilling details about the alleged dysfunctional family dynamics behind her uncle's personality. She recently also said that the insurrection has effectively "torpedoed" Ivanka Trump and Don Trump Jr's political careers.
