Mary Trump, Donald Trump's niece, is considering changing her last name to avoid any association and completely snap ties with her uncle. The reason? She fears all the negative connotations her name may draw in the future after the 'incalculable damage' her uncle has done to the US during his presidency.

Mary, who is the author of a scathing memoir where she gave her uncle the title of the 'world's most dangerous man', is also a clinical psychologist. The 55-year-old has also shed light on the former first couple's relationship, claiming that while she doesn't think Melania wants to divorce Donald, the former POTUS understands neither 'affection or intimacy'. "The damage Donald has done to this country is incalculable," Mary told the Sunday Telegraph, adding: "We're just waiting to find out how much is irreparable."

Rumors of Melania being unhappy in her marriage to Donald were once again the buzz after she didn't stop to take photos with him as they landed in Florida's Palm Beach Airport. While the ex-President stopped and posed for the photographers, Melania kept walking, looking allegedly icy and stone-faced. She didn't even so much as wave her hand to the photographers, sparking speculations surrounding her plans of divorcing Donald. Although she dismissed these claims, Mary insists her uncle is allegedly incapable of a healthy relationship at all. "I don't believe he understands affection or intimacy", claimed Mary.

Mary's claims come after former White House aide Stephanie Wolkoff alleged in her tell-all memoir in November 2020 that the Trumps have a 'transactional marriage' — so bad that they sleep in separate rooms. Omarosa Manigault Newman, another former aide, also claimed the couple's marriage of 15 years was over as "Melania is counting every minute until he is out of the office and she can divorce."

Mary is one of the two children of Donald's brother Fred Trump Jr. who died in 1982, aged 42, after fighting alcoholism. When their grandfather Fred Sr. had died in 1999, Mary and her brother Fred Trump III, challenged his will claiming the family was cutting them out from due shares. Mary's memoir came in July 2020, and titled 'Too Much and Never Enough: How My Family Created the World´s Most Dangerous Man'. She released the book as Robert Trump claimed she was barred from talking to the family.

Mary wrote in her book that she had "no problem calling Donald a narcissist — he meets all nine criteria as outlined in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders." Predicting a 'grim' future for her uncle as he tried to 'change the narrative' around his legacy, she told CNN that the former president's last day in office was '[..] probably the worst day of his life because the clock is ticking and he's running out of time," she said.

Mary continued: "The other thing I just want to point out about that speech, it was reminiscent of a video he made after the insurrection saying the movement is just beginning, which seems like a bit of a threat to me. My hope is that he be as contained as possible. He's going to do whatever he can or believes he can to change the narrative and I think we're going to see that play out with some of these pardons in excess of 100, if I'm hearing that correctly, and some of these pardons will be quite horrific, some of them will be strategic."
