LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The award season has already begun and almost all major production houses are accelerating their campaigns for the next year’s Academy Awards. Just like every year, Marvel has also begun its campaign for some of the movies that came out in 2022, especially ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’. However, fans are really shocked to learn that one of the biggest production houses included its weakest film in the For Your Consideration list.

Disney recently updated its ‘For Your Consideration’ list on the official website and some new titles have been added to the list. ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’ has been added to the list, but fans were really shocked to see that ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ has also been included in the list and want the Academy members to consider it in multiple categories, including Best Picture. Apart from the aforementioned category, Disney and Marvel are also pushing Chris Hemsworth and Natalie Portman into the leading actor categories.
Meanwhile, Tessa Thompson and Christian Bale are being pushed for the Supporting Actor categories, along with Russell Crowe, Taika Waititi, and Jaimie Alexander.

Fans were really surprised that Marvel submitted the movie for Best Picture and didn’t hold back in trolling the production house for taking such a wild decision. One of the fans wrote, “I’ve been inclined to defend this movie to a certain extent but there should not be a world where Thor love and thunder wins an Oscar. Sorry.” Another social media user said, “I'm sorry I love Marvel but...if movies like Infinity war didn't win the best picture...then love and thunder stands NO chance...Wakanda forever maybe but again no phase 4 movie is Oscar-level.”

Meanwhile, one of the fans wrote that this is a “hysterical” decision because movies like ‘Winter Soldier’, ‘Infinity War’, and ‘Endgame’ didn’t get nominations during the awards season. Another social media user tweeted, “I respect the confidence but this is hysterical and delusional. If Endgame, Infinity War, Winter Soldier, and Civil War didn’t win any Oscars what makes you think Thor: Love and Thunder will.”

“This should be considered for Razzies!” wrote another user.

‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ received mixed reviews from the critics while viewers were also left disappointed with the movie. The reactions suggested that fans were not happy with the MCU’s latest entrant and feel that Marvel’s winning formula is not wielding the same magic that it used to.

The film earned more than $760 million globally at a production budget of $250 million and currently holds a rating of 64% on the review site Rotten Tomatoes.

On the other hand, ‘Wakanda Forever’ is also in Disney’s FYC list and has been included in categories such as Best Picture, Best Director (Ryan Coogler), Best Actress (Letitia Wright), Best Supporting Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Best Adapted Screenplay and more.
