Marsha Blackburn slams Joe Biden saying 'Neanderthals are resilient', Internet says 'they're also extinct'
Just when one thought Senator Marsha Blackburn's impassionate defense of the Neanderthals couldn't get any more intense, the Tennessee Rep tweeted photos of customized t-shirts sporting her sentiments on the 'resilient' hominid species. The internet, however, has decided to remind Blackburn just why we don't see Neanderthals around anymore and just why they went 'extinct'.
In the early hours of March 5, journalist Aaron Rupar shared a clip of Blackburn telling Fox News why she thinks President Joe Biden's criticism of Neanderthals is inaccurate. "Marsha Blackburn responds to Biden's "Neanderthal" comments w/ impassioned defense of Neanderthals: "Neanderthals are hunter-gatherers, they're protectors of their family, they're resilient, they're resourceful, they tend to their own. So I think Joe Biden needs to rethink [it]," tweeted Rupar sharing the video where Blackburn touts the extinct hominid species.

This comes after Biden criticized Republican governors for overturning public health mandates in place to contain the spread of the Covid-19 virus. "I hope everybody's realized by now these masks make a difference," Biden said from the Oval Office, adding: "We are on the cusp of being able to fundamentally change the nature of this disease because of the way we're able to get vaccines in people's arms. The last thing we need is Neanderthal thinking that in the meantime everything's fine, take off your mask, forget it. It still matters."
Blackburn however believes reopening Tennessee has ensured and solidified their state economy and businesses, with children back in school, even as coronavirus cases keep spiking. "We were called Neanderthals when I led the fight against imposition of a state income tax," Blackburn said during her appearance on Fox. "I started the Neanderthal caucus. Because Neanderthals are hunters-gatherers ... they are protectors of their families. They are resilient, they are resourceful. They tend to their own."
The senator said Biden should "rethink what he is saying about the states that are starting to move away from these mask mandates."

As soon as Rupar shared her impassionate defense on Twitter, social media flocked to ridicule the flawed theory Blackburn was harping on. "Let me look it up... Neanderthals: died due climate change and disease, sometimes do inbreeding, and practice cannibalism. Seriously, they really do that," wrote one. Another said, "Sooo... GOP Sen. Blackburn believes being referred to as a Neanderthal actually should be viewed as a compliment? Okay... maybe she recognizes a synergy to an extinct species for 30,000 years when it did NOT adapt to rapidly altered environmental conditions due to CLIMATE CHANGE?"
One user even quipped: "Wait, aren't Republicans not allowed to acknowledge evolution is a fact?" Another chimed in "Exactly! President Biden shouldn't have called conservatives Neanderthals. It's unfair to Neanderthals. It's also be unfair to compare conservatives to plants. Plants can turn to the light and generate food. It's better to compare conservatives to rocks. They think like rocks." Summing it all up, a particular user was of the opinion "everyone thought they only wanted to take us back to the 1950’s, but they really want to go way, way, way back." Another said, 'Neanderthals are also extinct due to natural selection.'
