'Married at First Sight': Katie is finally over her ex and ready to fall in love with Derek after their dance
Derek and Katie's story is panning out well and gives people hope especially because she was coming from a place of self-doubt and conflicted thoughts about marrying a stranger. Now, she's happily sharing her first dance with someone who has his eyes only on her while their loved ones watch them take baby steps into a brighter future together.
Katie had her reservations because it was the first time that they were getting close and that too amid a gathering of people. Even though she knew half of them, Derek and being with him was a totally new experience for her. But, it all went smoothly. Derek charmed her and even made her say "it feels right". They even sneaked in a kiss while doing their moves as Katie whispered: "you are very handsome."
Clearly, there's a spark and both appear extremely content with their decision to marry each other. While Katie said she cannot wait to fall in love with Derek, the husband thinks her smile, when she looks at him, is natural and makes him feel right about the marriage. Katie can finally move on from her ex-lover, who has been coaxing her to not go through with the wedding but she's glad to have stuck by her decision.
Derek and Katie have just joined grad schools and are really thrilled to be starting their life together, with a puppy (Katie's furry friend) in tow. From the start, the two have been extremely comfortable, so much so that Katie even admitted to having no complaints about her husband's kisses.
Meanwhile, on the basis of previous week's episode, viewers have opined that maybe it would have been better if Derek got a shot at real love because Katie is still hung up on her ex. There's no way to refute this because she has mentioned her past multiple times in the said episode and about how she has been having second thoughts about the marriage.
