Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene appears to be on a warpath against Dr. Anthony Fauci. Hours after introducing a 'Fire Fauci Act' bill, she sent out a highly unusual tweet to reinforce her message. Rather than making one of her usually outrageous claims, Greene shared a video of herself exercising, while adding the hashtag #FireFauci.

Greene also introduced another long-shot bill that would force businesses to serve unvaccinated customers and crackdown on vaccine passports. Both her bills are unlikely to make it to the House floor, so it is unclear exactly what she plans to accomplish. Right now though, her primary aim seems to be to get rid of Fauci, who was retained by Biden as the Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID).

The calls to fire Fauci could be related to his defense of Dr. Deborah Birx. In a CNN interview, Fauci said people "need to cut her some slack" when asked if she was responsible for the poor response early on to the pandemic. It's unclear what exactly transpired in the White House, but Greene clearly believes something happened and wants Fauci to take the blame.

During his appearance on CNN, Fauci told Chris Cuomo, "I think if you ask her now, she probably would say she should have done more. But you really need to cut her some slack, the way I do.” When the pandemic first broke out, Birx worked inside the White House to provide medical guidance. Many critics called her a 'cheerleader' for the former President, siding with his extreme views despite the lack of evidence.

In a CNN interview earlier on Sunday, Birx argued that she had done her best. "Everybody in the White House was upset with ... the clarity that I brought about the epidemic,” she said. She acknowledged that more lives could have been saved, but did not say how she could've done so. On multiple occasions, she reportedly sided with Trump and declined to call out his fake claims. However, Fauci argues that it was simply because of the role she played, saying, "she was in a tough situation".

Fauci also claimed credit for the COVID-19 vaccines, calling it "the best decision that I've ever made". He did not mention Trump even once in that segment, which is also likely to have infuriated Greene. For months, Trump and Republicans have been keen to claim Operation Warp Speed - which led to the speedy development of the vaccines - as a major victory.

Whatever the truth is, it seems like Greene wants to know, or least get Fauci to take the blame for. In a press release, she said that the 'Fire Fauci Act' will do three things:

1) Highlight Fauci's salary of $4,34,312 and call for it to be reduced to $0 until a new NIAID director is confirmed by the Senate

2) Highlight the contradictory statements made by Fauci during his handling of the pandemic.

3) Ask the Government Accountability Office (GAO) to investigate NIAND to find out what they knew about the pandemic, how they spent their funding and how they responded to the pandemic.

Apart from the bill, Greene has also tweeted multiple times to fire Fauci, and even talked about it on Steve Bannon's 'War Room' podcast. She also tweeted her workout in-between, saying, "This is my Covid protection #MakeAmericaHealthyAgain It’s time to #FireFauci"

The tweet has since gone viral, with many mocking the Georgia Congresswoman for her attack, and doing CrossFit. Within minutes, the term 'CrossFit' was trending on Twitter as many tore into Rep. Greene.

Internet says she 'can do CrossFit in prison'

One user called Greene's video, "The worst form I've ever seen. I can't stop laughing". Another claimed, "Marjorie Taylor Greene can do CrossFit in prison where she belongs. @RepMTG".

Another said, "CrossFit and QAnon were already individually insufferable cults. Of course MTG combined them. And I’m not commenting on or retweeting her video because I’m making an effort not to give exposure to useless, dangerous shit heads."

"Damn she’s gonna make me quit CrossFit lol" another user joked. Another said the video "makes me dislike CrossFit even more than I already do."

Another user used the opportunity to remind Twitter about CrossFit's own controversial history. "Since a certain extremist politician is showing off her CrossFit moves today, a reminder that CrossFit founder and CEO Greg Glassman had to step down under a year ago because of racist remarks he made about George Floyd, prompting ~500 CF gyms across the country to disaffiliate" they tweeted.

While Republicans may be eager to back Greene, it seems like one particular business is done with her - CrossFit. In March, the company told BuzzFeed, "CrossFit supports respectful fact-based political dialogue to address our common challenges, and we strongly oppose the loathsome and dangerous lies attributed to Ms. Greene." However, that hasn't stopped Greene from referring to CrossFit, even if indirectly, through tweets like this.

As for Fauci, he doesn't seem to be going anywhere yet. He enjoys immense support amongst Democrats. So while Greene may tweet all she wants, #FireFauci looks like it will live and die only as a Twitter trend, at least as long as Democrats control the House.
