Who is Marilia Mendonca's ex-fiance Murilo Huff? Couple split over 'silly' reasons
Marília Mendonça, one of Brazil's most popular contemporary singers, was killed in a plane crash at the age of 26 years while she was on her way to Caratinga, Minas Gerais, Brazil, to perform at a local concert. An investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the crash.
Mendonca, who was a Latin Grammy winner in 2019, became famous for focusing on women's experiences with failed relationships. She became known as the country's "Queen of Suffering" after starting her career as a teenager and becoming a national sensation in 2016 with a hit about infidelity.
In 2020, she was the most listened-to artist in Brazil on Spotify. Apart from her, four other people including her uncle, her producer and two crew members also died in the accident in a rural area in southeastern Minas Gerais state. Some of the other musicians who died this year include Johnny Ventura, Greg Gilbert, Emani and Sarah Dash.

Initially, there were reports from her staff members saying that she was alive and well after the crash. TV photos later showed her damaged aircraft near a waterfall in a mountainous area.
Marilia Mendonca was last known to be engaged to musician Murilo Huff
Following an array of casual relationships, in May 2019 Mendonca revealed she had been in a serious relationship for the last five months with fellow singer and songwriter Murilo Huff. The couple got engaged and moved in together. In June the same year, she confirmed that she was pregnant, giving birth to the couple's son Léo. The child was born eight weeks premature, on 16 December 2019, in Goiânia. Previously, she was in only one other serious relationship, which was with businessman Yugnir Ângelo. Although they became engaged in December 2016, Mendonca ended the relationship in August 2017, stating she was too young for such a commitment.
According to Portuguese entertainment outlet Quem, Mendonca split up with Huff on September 28 and was single again. The outlet mentioned that the reason for their breakup was something "silly." However, post-breakup, the former couple decided to keep their friendship alive and maintain mutual respect for the sake of their child. Prior to the announcement of the split, there had been rumors that they wanted to go their separate ways for a long time.

Murilo Huff is a popular Brazilian artist/band, known for songs such as "Nunca Vai Ser Nós," "Uma Ex Remix," "Por Te Amar Assim." His songs have appeared in Top Chart that rank the best Brazilian musicians/bands. The highest position on the chart occupied by him was 8.
Not much is known about him except that he is active on social media. He has nearly three million followers on Instagram. Although there are no pictures of his ex-fiance up on his page, there are photos of Leo, showing that he is a doting father. It is unclear if the couple shares custody of the child or only one of them has full custody. He has also not posted a tribute to Mendonca so far.
