'Manifest' season 2 might see Ben and Mick unravel the mystery behind the time jumps with help from flight 848's missing co-pilot

If anyone can get Ben and Mick closer to solving the mystery it would be Amuta, and we sure hope he makes a comeback in season two

It has been a boring few months without 'Manifest', which with its very first season managed to flood our minds with infinite fan theories and character arcs. However, since that mind-blowing finale on February 18, 2019, one big question has been irking us and that is why are the time jumps happening?

Some of the other questions we desperately need answers to are why are the callings happening? Who is involved in this? Are the messages from a government organization, aliens or some mystical power?

However, we are hopeful that the upcoming season two may be able to answer at least some of them for us. Creator Jeff Rake has been vocal about the fact that he has content worth six seasons planned out in his head, and it took him close to a decade to work them out. So it is highly unlikely that all the questions will be answered in the very next season. After all, 'Lost' kept the mystery going for six seasons, and still left fans with the task of filling in so many blanks.

What we do expect is that the show put at least a few puzzle pieces together so we can clear up at least some of the mystery the NBC show is clouded in. For example, we would love to get an update on co-pilot Amuta, played by Leajato Amara Robinson. According to Captain Bill Daly (Frank Deal), Amuta is the only one to have actually seen what happened in the storm.

'Manifest' season 2 will hopefully answer some of our questions while leaving some for the seasons to come (NBC)

Although Mick (Melissa Roxburgh) and Ben (Josh Dallas) tried to reach out to him and ask him about the black lightning, they were told that he has gone back to Jamaica. However, with various forces – both human and potentially supernatural agencies – working behind the curtains, we find it a little hard to believe that Amuta is conveniently missing in action.

If anyone can get Ben and Mick closer to solving the mystery it would be Amuta, and we sure hope he makes a comeback in season two.

People who have not done exactly what the calling demanded have paid the price, and so have those who have tried to manipulate the calling for their benefit. It is clearly self-serving, be it a government organization or a mythical one. Season two is set for release in early 2020 and we sure hope it continues to keep the mystery as intriguing as it did in season one.
