LOUISIANA: Another chilling footage has emerged of Madison Brooks, 19, before her ill-fated death. The LSU student was caught on surveillance camera leaving a Baton Rouge bar and running across a parking lot to get into a car with three men and a teenager. Two of the men are now accused of allegedly raping the woman while the other two watched. After the whole incident, the four men allegedly left Brooks on the roadside in a "drunken" and "impaired" condition before she was struck and killed by a ride-share car.
Kavion Washington, 18, and a minor, 17, have been charged with raping the student, while Everett Lee, 28, and Casen Carver, 18, are charged as accessories to the crimes. Madison, who was underage, had been drinking from 10 pm to nearly 1.30 am at Reggie's bar during which she stumbled upon the group of men. The Louisiana State University student was pronounced dead in the early hours of January 15, 2023. Brook's death and similar controversial incidents have resulted in the suspension of the notorious bar's liquor license.

Surveillance footage captured Brooks leaving the bar at 1.50 am and running up to the group of strangers and hugging one of them before walking out of the camera frame. Suspect Kaivon Washington, 18, was released on bond set for $150,000 after being charged with third-degree rape. A third-degree rape charge in Louisiana is related to the victim being unable to consent because they are under the influence of alcohol or drugs and the offender "knew or should have known of the victim's incapacity," revealed Daily Mail.
Casen Carver and Everett Lee were released on a $50,000 and $75,000 bond, respectively. All three adults accused in the case are ordered to remain under house arrest and to wear ankle monitors. The unidentified 17-year-old continues to be in juvenile jail after his court hearing was postponed until February. Prosecutor Stuart Theirort said the state would be seeking to upgrade charges of first-degree rape, which in Louisiana carries a mandatory life sentence without the possibility of parole.
As per reports, the group of men arrived at the bar at 10.18 pm, nearly 20 minutes after Brooks had started drinking. Around 1 am, Brooks appeared to be sitting on a stool by the counter at the bar before stumbling and getting back to her feet with the help of these men, revealed an affidavit. At 1.34 am, she was seen sitting on a bench by the entrance door before falling again, with the teenager approaching her, removing her cap, and helping her to get to her feet. Nearly 25 minutes later, Brooks was recorded on camera walking away with the men on the streets. Nearly 10 minutes after Brooks got into the car, she was dumped on the side of the road.
The men claimed that she was in a "drunken state" but was able to consent and willingly got in the car. However, the toxicology report claimed that Brooks had 0.319g percent of alcohol in her system, which is so high that she could have suffered from alcohol poisoning or loss of consciousness, reported the source.
An autopsy also revealed that traces of THC or cannabis were also found in her system at the time of her death. Authorities claimed that she was so drunk that the 19-year-old would not have been able to consent to the sexual activity.
