'Our family has heavy hearts': Missing Madalina Cojocari’s cousin issues heartbreaking plea to find her

Cornelius police arrested Madalina's mom Diana Cojocari and her stepfather Christopher Palmiter just two days after the FBI joined the search operation

CORNELIUS, NORTH CAROLINA: Madalina Cojocari, 11, was last seen on November 23, 2022, at her residence in Cornelius, North Carolina. Just two days after the FBI joined the search operation, Cornelius police arrested her mother Diana Cojocari, and stepfather Christopher Palmiter, 60. The two were accused of failing to notify the authorities about the child's disappearance. The state police also noted that the parents didn't notify Cojocari's school resource officer about her absence until December 14, which was three weeks after she last showed up for the class on November 22. The case has already caught the attention of the cyber sleuths, who have begun speculating their own unverified hypothesis about the incident, even before Cojocari's mother and stepfather were arrested.

According to recent information related to the case revealed by News Nation, after having a disagreement with Diana on November 23, the day after Cojocari went missing, Palmiter took a drive to Michigan. According to a Twitter user, the 11-year-old may have been with him at that time.

The user wrote, "Who drives 12-13 hrs to get "some items" during thanksgiving day? Make it make sense. I'm wondering if Diana has an alibi. Did she go with him? Did they go on the trip together & only the 2 of them came back? I have so many questions." This is an unproven and arbitrary theory that is still unverified by the authorities. 

As authorities search for the 11-year-old girl, Madalina's cousin issued a heartbreaking plea on social media to help find her. She wrote, "Our family needs your thoughts, prayers, and hopefully your support in sharing this in hopes we find our beautiful Madalina. Our family has some very heavy hearts and are still trying to wrap our heads around the reality that Madalina is missing."

She added, "Madalina, the missing 11-year-old, beautiful girl below, is my cousin, who has been missing since November 23rd. We believe she could be somewhere between Michigan and North Carolina. Please take the time to look at her picture and keep a watchful eye out for her. If you see her or even think it might be her, please contact your local authorities."

She concluded, "Please share this so we can get as many eyes as we can out there searching for our beautiful girl. She needs everything we got."

People quickly responded to the tweet, with one user writing, "Very scary: guess LE is interviewing the father who took off for short time? Sounds like the Mom was very frightened of him." Another user wrote, "If mom did something, dad will talk, and vice versa. I'm afraid that mom was severely abused herself. It's a horrible situation regardless."

Some other user chimed in, "I hope they find her." "Well lights are on so may be a better sign than other times.....I still think mother did something terrible and had weeks to get ahead of LE," commented another user.
