They say it's bad luck for the to-be-weds to see each other before the wedding. In any case, it seemed like Shuntaro couldn't hold it in any longer. He walks into Ayano's room and takes a seat right next to her. He opens up and confesses about what he genuinely feels in regard to their relationship.
In all honesty, Shuntaro has gone through quite a lot in this dating experience with Ayano. When they were supposed to stay together under one roof, Ayano kept making excuses to not live with him. It goes without saying that this would've hurt him.
In addition, he also says that he still doesn't know Ayano completely, as a person, and she hasn't even spoken about her parents to him to date. With such ambiguity in the picture, Shuntaro couldn't; see himself starting his life as a married man at 56 with someone like Ayano.
To his surprise, Ayano tells him that she was unsure as well and that if he didn't come to her room, she'd have denied the marriage in front of family and friends. This took Shuntaro by surprise because even up until the very last minute, he couldn't tell what she was thinking or what was going on in her head. For her part, she just accepted what he said, and didn't been look upset.
The two hug it out, wish each other the very best, and part ways.
The last two episodes of Season 1 of 'Love is Blind: Japan' were released on February 22, 2022, on Netflix.
