SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA: Cash App creator Bob Lee, 43 was stabbed to death in the Rincon Hill neighborhood of San Francisco early Tuesday morning. His father, Rick Lee, has penned a heartbreaking tribute for his son. He took to social media and described his son as his "best friend" and the "smartest person" he had ever known.
Rick said, "I just lost my best friend, my son Bob Lee when he lost his life on the street in San Francisco early Tuesday morning." He also shared that Bob was the kind of person who would give anyone the shirt off his back and adhered to a strict no-judgment philosophy.

"Bob would give you the shirt off his back," the grieving dad continued. Cash App creator Bob Lee was a known tech entrepreneur and former chief technology officer of Square. He was also a devoted father of two.
The San Francisco Police are asking the public to help in identifying the stabber, and no suspects have been named yet. Rick Lee also shared that he and Bob had become very close in the years since they moved to Mill Valley, CA after Bob's mother passed away in 2019. They relocated to Miami in October 2022 and had been enjoying their time together. "Life has been an adventure with two bachelors living together, and I'm so happy that we were able to become so close these last years," Rick wrote.

Many people who knew Bob Lee shared their memories and condolences in the comments section of his father's post. Holly Brand Durkin, who went to school with Bob, wrote, "I went through school with Bob and ran in his circle in High School. He was so fun and smart and kind." She also shared a memory of Bob helping her out in C++ class. Cameron Purdy, who knew Bob for over ten years, wrote that he was "one of a kind" and that Silicon Valley needs more people like him.

Florian Leibert, who went to the Burning Man music festival with Bob, remembered him as kind, sweet, and always making the world around him better. "He was so kind, and sweet, and made the world around him better. My thoughts are with you all," Leibert said. Bob Lee's tragic death has left his family, friends, and the tech community in shock. "Bobby worked harder than anyone and was the smartest person I have ever known. He will be missed by all those that knew him. Thank you to those who have reached out in support," Rick Lee wrote.
