Lori Vallow: JJ Vallow's grandparents Kay and Larry Woodcock say 'Doomsday cult' mom will not win the triple murder case
MADISON COUNTY, IDAHO: Hours before the murder trial of Lori Vallow in Idaho who allegedly killed her special needs son Joshua "JJ" Vallow, his grandparents said she was "not winning" the case. The cult mother is also accused of killing her other child Tylee Ryan, 16.
The slain seven-year-old boy's grandparents Larry and Kay Woodcock talked about the early days of the relationship between the defendant and their son. "She seemed very nice and just a very pretty girl. She just seemed like a regular, normal person," said Kay. Lori's brother, Alex Cox, shot and killed her ex-husband Charles Vallow in July 2019 and she has also been charged with conspiracy over the death, reported Law and Crime.

'She was everything a mother is supposed to be'
Kay explained that JJ Vallow who was born prematurely was diagnosed with autism later. She and her husband spent a significant amount of time with the boy after the family shifted to Hawaii. Kay said that "He loved his mother and he was in love with his mother and just she, you know, little boys should be in love with their mother."
"And it – it was very apparent. And she was so good with him – and patient – and she learned about his autism…She was engaged, she was loving, she was patient and she was everything a mother is supposed to be. And, people say: ‘Oh, y’all had to see something in her before then.’ Well, I never did," she added.
Talking about the horrifying murders and her trial in Idaho which began on Monday morning, April 3, Kay said, "I just want to stare her down and let her know that she’s not winning this one."
What led to the triple murders?
According to Idaho police, Lori and her current husband Chad Daybell believed that for the fulfillment of a religious prophecy, her fourth husband Charles Vallow had to be murdered. The 'doomsday' mother also believed that the two children had to be killed as she thought they "had been possessed by a demon or another dark entity" and became "zombies."
Daybell who has penned various novels based on subjects relating to end-time theology met Lori in 2018. The duo met following an appearance in a podcast that discussed the end of the world in eschatological terms, reported Law and Crime.
