IDAHO COUNTY, IDAHO: Lori Vallow Daybell, 49, donned jail makeup in her new mugshot at Ada County Jail. The 'doomsday cult' mother who was accused of killing her two children was detained in the Idaho jail this week. The law enforcement agency released the latest image of Vallow a week ahead of her trial.

In the mugshot, Vallow appeared to be wearing makeup and she also curled her hair which led to the internet erupting over inmates being able to access grooming tools in prison. Vallow, and her current husband, Chad Daybell, have been accused of murdering her two children in 2019, reported to Law and Crime.

'Cult Mom' Lori Vallow found competent to stand trial for killing her own children for being 'zombies'

What are the charges against Willow and Daybell?

The alleged killer couple has been indicted for the murder of her children Tylee Ryan, 17, and Joshua 'JJ' Vallow, 7, and Daybell's ex-wife, Tammy Daybell. On charges of child desertion, the 49-year-old mother was taken into custody in February 2020 in February. The defendants who recently severed are set to stand trial separately.

Lori's brother, Alex Cox, fatally shot her previous husband Charles Vallow. Cox claimed that he shot Vallow in self-defense in July 2019. He is also accused of attempting to kill Tammy Daybell. In Arizona, the 'cult mom' has been charged with conspiracy over the death of her ex-husband.

What led to the death of Vallow's ex-husband and her children?

Idaho police alleged that Lori and her current husband believed that her fourth husband had to be killed for the fulfillment of a religious prophecy. In connection to the death of her children, Vallow believed the two children "had been possessed by a demon or another dark entity" and became "zombies."

Vallow's fifth husband Daybell authored various novels based on subjects relating to end-time theology. The duo met in 2018 following a podcast appearance in discussing the end of the world in eschatological terms. In response to a defense request in excluding death as a potential punishment, Seventh District Judge Steven Boyce granted the motion at a hearing in St Anthony, Idaho, in order "to ensure the rights of the defendant to a fair trial are protected." Vallow's trial is set to begin on April 3, according to Law and Crime.
