JRR Tolkien’s middle-earth saga is filled with extraordinary tales and characters. That’s why ‘Lord of the Rings’ is considered to be one of the greatest novels of all time. When Peter Jackson announced that he will be making three films on the same number of ‘Lord of the Rings' books, everyone was stunned. However, the results turned out to be legendary and the franchise became one of the highest-rated franchises of all time. Now, Amazon is trying to do the same with ‘The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power’ and give viewers a unique take on Tolkien’s saga.
The upcoming series talks about the second age, which is way different than what we have seen in the ‘Lord of the Rings' movies. Galadriel had a good relationship with her brothers Finrod, Angrod, and Aegnor, but she was closer to Finrod because he always used to take her side and give her wise suggestions. In the trailer, we see Galadriel mourning the death of his brother Finrod who is lying on a table made up of rocks. But who killed him? Well, it was Sauron. We believe that Finrod was looking to kill Sauron, but the Dark Lord found him first and killed him.
This particular event changed Galadriel and made her realize that the evil is real and she needs to kill it before his darkness spreads over the entire middle-earth. That’s why she’ll take her brother’s sword and embark on a journey to find Sauron. Whatever we have seen in the trailers, it seems she will be traveling to the North to find the place where Sauron was seen for the last time.
This journey will be excruciating for her and it would be interesting to see if other elves will join her in the quest or not. Nevertheless, she has taken the decision of finding Sauron and she won’t rest till the time she has found him.
Will Elrond play an important role in telling her that she should stop? One of the trailers sees him telling Galadriel to “put down her sword”. Maybe, this quest would turn her into something that she never was and Elrond was worried for her. But, what if she is true and Sauron is just waiting for the right time to strike? Then, the Middle-Earth would need a warrior like Galadriel to stop the darkness.
'The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power' will premiere exclusively on Amazon Prime Video on September 1.
