Lindsey Graham suggests Capitol riot was 'pre-planned', asks Nancy Pelosi to come clean: 'What did she know?'

The senator claimed that FBI agents and Capitol Police officers believed the storming had been planned ahead of Trump's speech at the Washington DC rally

Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) has claimed that the narrative spun by the Democrats that former President Donald Trump incited the January 6 riots at the US Capitol has "fallen apart", on Fox News' Hannity show on Wednesday, February 10. On the show, he called upon House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) to reveal if she was aware that rioters intended to "create violence" before they barged into the US Capitol and rioted.

Appearing on the show, the senator claimed that FBI agents and Capitol Police officers believed the storming had been planned ahead of Trump's speech at the Washington DC rally that morning, suggesting the planting of pipe bombs in the city between 7.30 and 8.30 pm ET on January 5. He said this shows that the violence had been pre-planned. So how much did Pelosi know?

"The only reason they're [Congress Democrats] trying to create this bizarre storyline that Trump was in on it, along with [former White House Deputy Chief of Staff] Dan Scavino, is that we now know that after impeachment, that was done without a lawyer, without a hearing and without any witnesses, that the FBI and the Capitol Hill police actually now understand this was actually pre-planned, planting bombs the night before," he said when appearing on the show. 

"So, the whole storyline that Donald Trump caused this by his speech has fallen apart due to good law enforcement activity," he said, and finally called upon Pelosi. "And here's what I want to know. What did Nancy Pelosi know and when did she know it? If this was widely known by the FBI and Capitol Hill police that people were planning to come to Washington before the sixth to create violence, I want to know did she know about that?"

On the show, Graham continued, "The whole storyline originally was Trump created this from the speech. Now we know that people had this on their minds before he ever spoke. So, they're [Congressional Democrats] are playing this bizarre game of trying to get Trump in on it before January 6. This is why you don't want to have snap impeachments. Evidence really does matter."

On Wednesday, February 10, lead House impeachment manager Rep Jamie Raskin (D-MD) said during the opening of Trump's second impeachment trial, "He [Trump] assembled, inflamed and incited his followers to descend upon the Capitol."

But like many Republicans, Graham also appears to be very confident that the former president would be acquitted a second time. In a tweet posted on Wednesday, February 10, night, Graham said. "The 'Not Guilty' vote is growing after today. I think most Republicans found the presentation by the House Managers offensive and absurd."

With his tweet, Graham angered most of the Internet with many asking him to stop the lies and to let the course of the impeachment take place. "Lindsay Graham wants to know 'what did Nancy Pelosi know and when did she know it?' Well, she knew the Capitol was under attack and that she was a target; she knew it later than Trump knew it. So, Lindsay, it’s time for you to start telling the truth and stop this parade of lies," Joy Behar tweeted. 

"Mr Graham. I never liked you. I never forgot your behavior at the swearing in of Kavanaugh. You were disgraceful then as you are now. You are a dispicable disgraceful Senator. You have no self respect. They were not going after your life It was Pence and Nancy Pelosi's. Shame," one tweeted when responding to him.

"How can anyone take Lindsey Graham seriously? Jamie Raskin was brilliant! Yet Lindsey Graham: dismisses solid constitutional evidence as absurd; and blames Nancy Pelosi for the insurrection. WTF? This is an unstable hypocritical delusional clown. An example Incompetence," another user tweeted.
