Lindsay Clancy: Midwife mom had wanted ‘more kids’ just months before killing her 3 children
DUXBURY, MASSACHUSETTS: The “killer” mother, who allegedly took the lives of her three little children before trying to kill herself, was reportedly keen on getting pregnant again. Lindsay Clancy is said to have taken the extreme step on January 24, which resulted in the deaths of seven-month-old Callan, three-year-old Dawson, and Cora, 5, whom she shared with her husband, Patrick Clancy.
Prosecutors have stated that the 32-year-old murdered her children after listening to a voice in her head, as reported by PEOPLE. On Tuesday, February 7, she appeared for her arraignment virtually from her hospital bed, during which she pled not guilty to numerous charges pressed against her that include, two counts of murder, three counts of strangulation, and three counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon in connection with their deaths.

‘I think I sort of resent my other children’
During the Tuesday hearing, prosecutors disclosed a note that Lindsay wrote in October 2022, just months before the unfortunate incident. Prosecutors citing the woman reportedly said, “I think I sort of resent my other children because they prevent me from treating Cal like my first baby. I was feeling so depressed last evening when Cora and Dawson came home from school. I know it rubs off on them, so we had a pretty rough evening. I want to feel love and connection with all of my kids.”
“She then wrote that she wants to have more kids, eventually,” a prosecutor asserted while referring to the October 25 note saved in her phone. Kevin Reddington, the lawyer representing Lindsay, added that she prayed “for happiness and health for her children; that she could get pregnant again.”
Prosecutors claim that Lindsay allegedly murdered the three minors with “deliberate premeditation and extreme atrocity and cruelty.” Her attorney has reportedly rejected that and suggested postpartum psychosis played a role behind the January 24 episode.
'Our marriage was wonderful'
Patrick has previously defended his wife and called her “generously loving and caring towards everyone.” He also shared, “I want to ask all of you that you find it deep within yourselves to forgive Lindsay, as I have,” before explaining, “I want to share some thoughts about Lindsay. She’s recently been portrayed largely by people who have never met her and never knew who the real Lindsay was,” on a GoFundMe.
“Our marriage was wonderful and diametrically grew stronger as her condition rapidly worsened. She loved being a nurse, but nothing matched her intense love for our kids and dedication to being a mother. It was all she ever wanted. Her passion taught me how to be a better father. Cora, Dawson, and Callan, you gave me so much in your short time here. I don’t know if the pain will ever go away, but I’ll do my best to carry on in your honor. Dada loves you so much and will always remember you. With love and endless gratitude,” the devastated father added.
