'Limetown' fans binge on Jessica Biel as Lia Haddock in the mystery thriller and say they're in for the whole ride

As is the case with most adaptations, fans who are aware of the original source material (the podcast) are noting comparisons

Jessica Biel stars in the mysterious new thriller 'Limetown'. As Lia Haddock, Biel essays the role of a journalist for American Public Radio who is investigating the puzzling disappearance of 326 people from a neuroscience research facility in Tennessee.

Originally created as a podcast in 2015, 'Limetown', written and directed by Zack Akers and produced by Skip Bronkie, was one of the best podcasts of that year bagging itself a place in Vulture's Top 10 Podcasts of 2015.

Biel has been investigating the case for a while but without any solid leads. But in the second episode of the Facebook Watch series, Lia Haddock meets with the only known survivor of Limetown — Winona.

The premiere of the series saw the release of the first two episodes and Biel has been drawing acclaim from her fans for her performance in 'Limetown'.

"I loved the first episode of #Limetown and watching the second one now. I’m so intrigued! I only wish I waited to watch it so I could binge it. @JessicaBiel is fantastic! So excited to see what happens in this show!" said a fan.

"Just watched the first two episodes of 'Limetown' in Facebook watch and it’s soooo good!!!! Damn Jessica Biel’s performance is incredible!!! I cannot wait for the next episode!!" exclaimed another.

As is the case with most adaptations, fans who are aware of the original source material (the podcast) are noting comparisons.

"They [makers of the Facebook Watch series] seem to be portraying Lia as an older less naive version of Podcast Lia. She seems to have obsessive tendencies outside of the Limetown story and some deeper psychological damage," shared one.

"Do we know if they are sticking 100% to the same storyline as the podcast? As in major themes and conclusions/characters. I have to admit I binged the podcast in 2 days and I have a hard time remembering if they are taking some liberties or not," questioned a fan.

Either way, Biel's performance in 'Limetown' is worth watching. In addition to that, the series is a mind-boggling mystery that warrants an edge-of-the-seat experience in itself.

You can watch episode 1 here. Two new episodes for 'Limetown' will be available every Wednesday at 12 pm PT/3 pm ET.
