Major spoilers for Episode 2 of 'Limetown'

At the end of the first episode, Jessica Biel's Lia Haddock receives a call from a mysterious person who claims to be a survivor of Limetown. She is told that the person is a verified resident of Limetown because she was seen there.

This will be the first account of Limetown from someone who has actually lived there — it is not only her story, it is the story of the place itself.

Jessica Biel's Lia Haddock is investigating the disappearance of 326 people from the neuroscience research community of Limetown.

Established as a research community, Limetown had housed hundreds of people — one of which is Lia's uncle Emile Haddock (Stanley Tucci) — before all of them suddenly disappeared.

How can 326 people disappear without a trace? The question had haunted Lia for years before she begins investigating a report for APR.

Diving into the investigation wasn't easy because Lia wasn't getting the answers she had hoped for. At one point, lacking substantial evidence and voices, her editor Sherri (Gina Purri) had asked her to make it a personal story.

However, before a dejected Lia uploaded it, she had received the call from Winona (Kelly Jenrette). Her meeting with Winona is unusual.

For starters, Winona had completely forgotten that they were supposed to meet. She doesn't remember who Lia Haddock is, where they were supposed to meet and why Lia calls her Winona.

It is clear that Winona has some sort of brain damage. She keeps a notebook and refuses to answer any of Lia's questions. "I am to give you the information I can give and no more," she tells her.

If Lia follows this set of instructions, Winona is supposed to direct her to the next survivor. Despite everything, she recounts living in Limetown with her husband and daughter named Sylvia.

She refers to someone as "The Man We Were All There For", who is experimenting with some sort of telepathy. The second episode is rather disturbing to watch.

Winona's story is in patches — in her head and Lia's notebook. She also seems to imply that Lia has a role to play in this story. If so, what is it?

'Limetown' premieres on Facebook Watch on October 16, 2019.
