'Legacies' Season 2 Episode 7: Does the Sphinx's riddle refer to the return of Kai Parker?
The monster on this week's episode of 'Legacies' on The CW was a Sphinx -- one of the monsters that we had hoped to see -- and he may have just given the viewers some major clues as to what will happen through the rest of the season.
When Lizzie asks the Sphinx what he wanted if it wasn't Landon, he gave her a riddle which Alaric and Dorian solved after learning that Vardemus is really Ryan Clarke. When they go to the Sphinx to ask what's coming -- something more terrible than Landon -- the Sphinx offers them his vision in the form of a riddle and promises them he'll be back before disintegrating into sand.
The riddle was this: “There are two prisoners. One is the master of his cage. The other returns home without power. The sins of the father are visited upon the daughters here. And not here. A new hero rises but can be felled by the golden arrow. The wolf among you has many faces. When time fractures darkness overwhelms. But the greatest destroyer of all is love.“
There can be many theories that could come from this but one part sparked a huge interest in the viewers -- "There are two prisoners. One is a master of his cage. The other returns home without power."
The first prisoner referred could be Malivore -- he is trapped in the pit and since he is the pit, is the master itself. But the other prisoner -- the one that returns home without power could be a character we have been waiting to see for a while -- Kai Parker.
Chris Wood has been confirmed to return as Kai in the second half of Season 2 of 'Legacies' and though we know that it will be related to the Gemini curse storyline, we think there is something bigger in the picture. He could be released from his prison world, but his powers stripped by someone who has a sinister desire.
'Legacies' airs on The CW on Thursday nights. The midseason finale will air next Thursday, December 12th.
