Larry Johnson is once again embroiled in controversy after hinting at a conspiracy behind Vincent Jackson's death. The 41-year-old former Kansas City Chiefs' running back had previously raised eyebrows with some outlandish conspiracy theories, and so it wasn't a surprise when he had something to say about the tragic wide receiver's demise on Monday.

Johnson's remarks came shortly after news of Vincent Jackson's passing was announced on Monday. The former Chiefs running back brought up Jackson's age and jersey number and alluded to something sinister as he quote-tweeted Bleacher Report. "'Found Dead' at 38 which is the reversal of his Jersey number 83…(thinking emoticon)” he tweeted.

It's worth noting that 41-year-old Johnson has grabbed headlines in the past for courting controversy. He recently claimed that Colin Kaepernick's take-a-knee protest was a gesture to Masonic character Hiram Abiff.

And during the Super Bowl, Johnson went on a wild rant claiming The Weeknd had performed a satanic ritual on live TV during the Super Bowl LV half-time show. Johnson has made references to conspiracy theories in the past. Last year, he alleged that Jennifer Lopez and Shakira were performing a child sex trafficking ritual during their performance at the Super Bowl LIV halftime show.

This time, however, Johnson's comments drew the ire of NFL fans across the internet. "I don’t know who Larry Johnson is, but I hope his testicles turn into cacti and his fingernails turn into ceramic," one tweeted. "This guy never shuts the f*** up. Used to follow for the comedy but come on. Every single athlete or celebrity is ALWAYS some stupid conspiracy for him. Stfu and let ppl rest of all ppl they sacrificed Vincent Jackson?! Dumbass," another added. "This freaking guy finds a conspiracy in everything," a third wrote. "Can’t we just let the man rest? Why we gotta do all this?" another commented. "Larry, this is profound insanity… So insensitive on so many levels and so misinformed on so many levels. He has family hurting and you’re talking about numerology, The Craft, and conspiracy. You need help," said another.

According to the hotel staff, Jackson, who lived locally, had checked into the hotel on February 11. His family had reported him missing the day before but police found him safe at the hotel on Friday, February 12, and the case was closed after they had checked on his well-being.
