'Killing Eve' Season 3 Episode 1: [Spoiler] is dead, fans call writers 'b******s' and hope it wasn't Villanelle
'Killing Eve' is back with its first episode of Season 3, titled 'Slowly Slowly Catchy Monkey', and things have gone for a toss. In the very first episode, a major character is dead and fans can't believe it.
In the episode, Kenny Stowton (Sean Delaney) is working as an investigative reporter now and he still lives with his hard-to-please mother Carolyn Martens (Fiona Shaw). Soon, Eve Polastri sets up a date to meet Kenny but when she arrives at his office, his body falls from the top of the building. Eve is visibly shaken and stirred. It also means that she will have to send the devastating news to Carolyn.
If Kenny is really dead, it could mean anyone could die, even Eve or Villanelle (for real this time). But since Eve and Villanelle also "almost" died, fans are a little confused and cannot believe it. "Why do I have a feeling Kenny is dead..." one wrote and another said, "So is Kenny dead, I mean it seems crazy that they would kill him so soon....I mean Villanelle and Eve both almost died too so..."
Moreover, many can't stop calling him the "purest character" on the show. "If Kenny is really dead that is fucked up. The purest character on the show. #KillingEve," one posted and another wrote, "How are they gonna close the episode with Kenny dead and then give us a clown Villanelle preview #KillingEve." Another tweeted, "Whoever killed the only person caring about Eve right now is dead. #KillingEve."
"WTF?!?! The writers finally give us Kenny x Eve content and now he’s dead?!?" one tweet read and another said, "Me:”I love Kenny so much. He’s such a sweetheart” Kevin:*dead 5 minutes later*."
Another said, "F**k I refuse to accept his death. He is not dead. I don't give a f**k." Another posted, "KENNY IS DEAD. SHORTS-BOY KENNY IS DEAD. THE ONLY PERSON FROM THIS SHOW WHO ACTUALLY HAD A HEART IS GONE."
One fan couldn't help but label the writers and makers 'b*stards'. "OMG, they killed Kenny. BASTARDS!" the tweet read. "Started this episode hype that Hugo was getting his money from M16 to being sad as fuck about Kenny," another posted. The main question buzzing in most minds now is: Who killed Kenny?
"WHO killed Kenny? And don't tell me it was Villanelle, she's not even in London!!!! #KillingEve," one wrote and another said, "I suppose this will be the catalyst for Eve and Carolyn to go after The Twelve again And we're gonna spend god knows how much of this season wondering if it was Villanelle who killed Kenny, bc if she did, she and Eve will never get back together." Many hope Villanelle wasn't the killer. "I hope Villanelle wasn't the one who killed Kenny. Because my favorite character killing my other favorite character ain't it," said a user.
As the next episode airs on Sunday, April 19, at 9 pm ET on BBC America, it may reveal who killed Kenny and whether Eve and Villanelle will finally see each other again.
