Jordan Morgan, 32, daughter of a former Kentucky representative, was pronounced dead on the scene after an invader attack. The shooting occurred at around 4:30 am on Tuesday, February 22. The incident took place at the Morgans' estate located in Richmond.

Jordan is the daughter of C. Wesley Morgan. He served in the Kentucky House of Representatives for the 81st district until 2018.

Apparently, an armed suspect entered the Morgans' home and fired multiple shots. This was confirmed by the Kentucky State Police, who also said that a gunfire exchange took place between the suspect and the homeowner. Reportedly, Jordan was pronounced dead at the scene. Madison County Coroner Jimmy Cornelison said that C. Wesley Morgan was treated at the University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital and released.

Cornelison also added that C. Wesley Morgan and his wife were "shot up". Further details of the incident are yet to be disclosed. It was also reported that no suspect has been identified and no arrests have been made.

Morgans and Politics

After completing a term in 2018, C. Wesley Morgan left the Kentucky House of Representatives. Following the move, he proceeded to challenge Senator Mitch McConnell in the 2020 Kentucky Republican primary. However, the attempt was unsuccessful. His daughter Jordan followed her father's footsteps as she started working on Matt Bevin's campaign in 2015. Bevin was running for Kentucky governor at the time. Two years later, in 2017, Jordan left politics and started working at a law firm. She was employed at the Reminger law office in Lexington before her death.

According to realtor.com, the Morgans' estate was up for sale at $6.5 million last year. This place contains the "ultimate fallout shelter", as reported by listing agent Marilyn Hoffman. The fallout shelter alone allegedly fetched more than $2 million.

Anyone who may have information regarding the shooting is encouraged to call Kentucky State Police at (859) 623-2404.
The investigation is still ongoing.
