FOREST PARK, CHICAGO: A female driver nearly ran over her partner at a gas station before flipping her huge, black suburban car into several other cars in Chicago's violent area. Kendra Nance, 31, allegedly got into a disagreement with her partner before escaping in a car and causing havoc in Forest Park on Sunday, April 9.

Forest Park police arrested Nance at around 3.15 pm on the same day nearly a block from the scene of the collision, at Thornton's gas station, as per Daily Mail. The 31-year-old is now facing charges of criminal damage to property, aggravated assault using a deadly weapon, reckless conduct — driving while never issued a license and reckless driving — leaving the scene. Who is Kendra Nance?

Nance was a passenger in the Ford Explorer, which her boyfriend was driving when they pulled into a gas station off Harlem Avenue in Forest Park. Soon, other patrons of the gas station became involved in their argument, and Nance also appeared to engage with them. According to prosecutors, Nance got into a car during the altercation and drove around the parking lot, positioning herself perpendicular to the victims' car. When she allegedly accelerated and crossed in front of the gas pumps, her car reportedly struck the victim's vehicle, and her boyfriend was dragged along, while the victims managed to avoid the collision.

As a result of the incident, the victim's car sustained significant damage. Nance reportedly attempted to leave the area by driving southbound, but she caused another collision in the northbound lane of Harlem Avenue. According to the prosecution, her car overturned after colliding with another vehicle. Nance and her partner subsequently left the scene on foot, and both suffered injuries.

'They started throwing cups and bottles'

During the altercation with his family, eyewitness Jae Mills claimed that a woman, later identified as Nance, began shouting homophobic and racial epithets at two other women while driving a Ford SUV. "They started throwing cups and bottles. I said it's about to escalate," he said.

Nance was seen laughing

A video shows one of the victims throwing a bottle at the Ford SUV that Nance's boyfriend was driving. The argument escalated, and Nance allegedly intentionally rammed the SUV into a red van, dragging her partner along with her. The SUV overturned as Nance drove out of the gas station parking lot and collided with another car. Despite the crash, the 31-year-old was seen laughing as she climbed out of the car through the broken driver's side window.

Nance's criminal past

Nance has three prior offenses, including aggravated battery on a peace officer in 2021, and theft and robbery in 2020. Additionally, she has three prior misdemeanors, with battery charges in 2017, 2018, and 2021. The recent incident has resulted in additional charges being added to the list, including criminal damage to property, aggravated assault using a deadly weapon, and reckless conduct.
