Kenan Thompson
Kenan Thompson will be seen as Kenan Williams in NBC comedy. He is best known as one of the cast members on ‘Saturday Night Live’. He is the longest-tenured cast member in the show’s history. He began his acting career in the '90s and rose to fame through Nickelodeon’s sketch comedy series ‘All That’. His film credits include ‘Hubie Halloween’, ‘Trolls World Tour’ and ‘Wonder Park’ among others. He has also won a Primetime Emmy Award.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Kenan described the opportunity to have his own show as a “dream”. He said, “It’s every comedian’s dream to get their own show on a major network, especially one of the original three. It’s historic, mind-blowing and very surreal.”
Chris Redd
Chris Redd will be playing the role of Gary Williams in ‘Kenan’. Similar to Kenan, he is also a cast member of ‘Saturday Night Live’ since 2017. Redd was born in St Louis, Missouri, and moved to Naperville, Illinois, when was eight. He attended school and college in Illinois before entering the entertainment industry. He is known for playing Hunter the Hungry in ‘Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping’. Redd has featured in films such as ‘Vampires vs the Bronx’, ‘Deep Murder’, ‘A Futile and Stupid Gesture’ and ‘Handsome’.
Don Johnson
American actor Don Johnson will be seen as Kenan’s father-in-law in ‘Kenan’. He is popular for featuring as James “Sonny” Crockett in the 1980s hit television series series ‘Miami Vice’. The role earned him a Golden Globe Award. Johnson’s first major role was in ‘Fortune and Men’s Eye’ as Smitty.
He later acted in films such as ‘Zachariah’, ‘The Harrad Experiment’ and ‘A Boy and His Dog’. Johnson has also received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Most recently he was seen as Richard Drysdale in ‘Knives Out’ and as Gerry in ‘Vault’, for which he served as the executive producer.
The rest of the cast of Kenan includes Dani Lane, Dannah Lane and Niccole Thurman.
'Kenan' will premiere on February 16 at 8.30 pm ET on NBC.
